  • The Lightning USB Cable is USB 2.

You can now purchase the Lightning to USB cable from the Apple Store.

  • The description states USB 2.0.

  • Lightning Cable use USB 2.0

  • It says it's 2.0

  • It could actually use both. The only difference is that 3.0 USB ports are 2x faster than 2.0

  • It says USB 2 in the Store:

    Overview
This USB 2.0 cable connects your iPhone or iPod with Lightning connector to your computer's USB port for syncing and charging or to the Apple USB Power Adapter for convenient charging from a wall outlet.

  • It's USB 2.0 as stated in the item description

  • The answer is in the overview.

This ***USB 2.0*** cable connects your iPhone or iPod with Lightning connector to your computer's USB port for syncing and charging or to the Apple USB Power Adapter for convenient charging from a power point.

  • It has USB 2.0 not USB 3 as yet

  • Guessing from Apples own description, USB2. - "This USB 2.0 cable connects your iPhone or iPod with Lightning connector to your computer's USB port for syncing and charging or to the Apple USB Power Adapter for convenient charging from a power point"

  • As the description says below the product picture, the Lightning cable uses USB 2.

  • It says in the description USB 2

  • It's USB 2

  • It says in the description above that it is USB 2.0...

  • If you read the overview above it clearly states it is USB 2.0

  • As the overview above states: "This USB 2.0 cable..."

  • It is USB 2.0 as stated in the description above. I hope this answers your question.

  • USB 2

  • Sadly, for some really odd unknown reason, Apple has made Lightning a USB 2.0 cable for now.

USB 3.0 cables cannot connect to USB 2.0 ports, but USB 2.0 cables can connect to USB 3.0 ports. Thus if you have a newer or older computer, you won't need to worry about it not connecting to any of your computers. Sadly, you will see no speed improvements on computers with USB 3.0.
