Might be a "duh" question, but it wouldn't work on a 2008, 17" MacBook Pro would it???
Somehow the magnetic head of my 85W (model A1222) power adapter tore. It will charge but I have to jiggle it a bit to stay. I was hoping the MagSafe 2 converter would fit this particular portal.

Can I use this mag safe converter with a thunderbolt 27 inch display and my new mac air?
I have a 27 inch thunderbolt monitor and the power cable doesn't fit into my new mac air. I saw this mag safe converter and was wondering if I can use it to connect my mac air directly to my monitor.
Thanks- Asked by Oscar V from New York

MagSafe to MagSafe2 & rMBP - Does it charge the rMBP while in use?
Equipment: 2012 rMBP, 2008 23" Cinema Dislay, MagSafe to MagSafe2 adapter.
Tonight I hooked up my retina macbook pro to my cinema display via the MagSafe to MagSafe2 adapter and noticed that while the rMBP received power, it wasn't charging the battery while I used the computer.
I've read various reports online about the MacBook air being able to receive both power and battery charge simultaneously, probably because it's power needs are 45w compared to the rMBP's 85w.
My experience so far says that the MagSafe to MagSafe2 adapter will NOT charge a rMBP while it's in use. Is this correct?- Asked by Michael M from Highlands Ranch

Is it better to get the adapter or just buy a new Magsafe 2 power supply?
I've got a brand new 2012 Macbook Air. Given my travels, I definitely need an extra power supply. I have some extra original Magsafe supplies (85W). I'm trying to decide if it will be better to get the adapter or get a new power supply.
