Video output options are limited. See description.
As Apple offers this adapter for HDMI output, which is limited resolution, question one is can you then use a HDMI to DVI adapter to connect a DVI monitor? Secondly, the specs page says (in part) "Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 3840 by 2160 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors" and later "Native DisplayPort 1.2 video output" So that would support this resolution, at unknown refresh rate, but how? Will there be another forthcoming USB-C to mini DisplayPort adapter that could then be re-adapted to Dual-Link DVI or connected to a supported UHD display?

Does this multiport supports HDMI-VGA adaptor?
I have recently buy a MacBook 12" and this multiport, because I will use it for my classes in the university.
Most of the projectors are VGA, so I bought a HDMI-VGA adapter as well.
I have tested it with 2 different projectors and the MacBook did not recognized them.
Then, I get from a collegue a generic USB-C/HDMI adapter, and the projector was recognized.
The tests I have performed are:
VGA projector
1. Apple Multiport + my HDMI-VGA adapter --> Not recognized
2. Apple Multiport + collegue's HDMI-VGA adapter --> Not recognized
3. Generic USB-C/HDMI + my HDMI-VGA adapter --> Recognized Ok
4. Generic USB-C/HDMI + collegue's HDMI-VGA adapter --> Recognized Ok
HDMI monitor
5. Apple Multiport --> Recognized Ok.
I really cannot believe that my MacBook works ok with a generic adapter and cannot work with Apple original adapter. Please, let me know how to proceed.
Best,
Ana.- Asked by Ana L from Buenos Aires

Sound over HDMI?
Does this adapter allow sound over HDMI? The description mentions hooking it up to your TV, but it doesn't specifically say sound works or does not work.

Has anyone tried this with a Wacom Cintiq?
Wacom drawing tablets require both a USB port and an HDMI port to run both the touch input and display, has anyone tried plugging a their drawing tablet into the 2015 MacBook (or another USB-C supported computer) using this adapter? If so, did you note any issue with performance, input lag, etc.?

Can this hdmi extend in addition to mirroring?
The description here only says it can mirror. Most other hdmi adaptors from apple says it can both mirror and extend to the external display. Does it mean this adaptor can only mirror and not extend to an ext display?
