This adapter worked for a week. Now it rarely works unless I spend 15 minutes fiddling with it to get it in the right position. If I move my phone or the adapter it stops working again. Standard problem with almost every Apple cable I've used. If they get bent, they stop working.

Apple products getting increasingly inelegant... necessitating garbage appendages for basic phone functionality is such a bummer.

    Total waste of money.

    • Written by Nancy K from Hockessin

I've had this for about 6 months and it would intermittently stop working, but now it won't work at all. Very expensive for a piece of garbage that stops working. Total waste of money.

2nd, maybe 3rd one to fail!

    • Written by Mark T from Huntington Beach

At $35, these products should hold up longer. The plug slips out of the iPhone while driving when I hit a bump now. Impossible to put back in while driving. I will now buy another brand that is much less expensive. It too may fail over time, but I will not have the money invested. Too expensive for such a chinzy product.

    Doesn’t work

    • Written by Wilson L from Lewes

I don’t understand why Apple have certified this device. From the reviews, it is obviously total garbage. Yes I get charge through but no digital audio connection, with either an iPhone SE or an iPod touch unable to discover any device connected through the Rockstar, whether charging or not. Waste of time and money. The connection I am trying to make is to a Beyerdynamic Impacto Universal DAC/Headphone amplifier, which connects perfectly direct to either iOS device with its Lighting cable.

    Belkin Audio & Charger

    • Written by Alice Y from Broken Arrow

Worked great for about three weeks, then it stop working. Really hate this no longer works, wouldn't recommend this product. Which I had done my research prior to purchasing. However, since Best Buy states Apple recommend this dual adapter I assumed it would work for infinity, what a disappointment.

WHY was the headset jack removed from the iPHONE ?!?!?!?!

    • Written by Amy M K from Plano

This device is first and foremost a PHONE for making and RECEIVING phone CALLS !!! Every other function is SECONDARY to phone calls!
No one currently makes a reliable splitter that allows the phone to charge WHILE using the 3.5mm earbuds for phone calls - this greatly hampers business use-age! iPhone 6 is the last model w/ a headset jack. I will not upgrade to a different model until the headset jack is again separate from the charging port. Please Apple, please return our cell phones to functional standards :/

    Overpriced junk

    • Written by Elizabeth D from Columbia

For the ridiculous price of this little gadget I expect it to work for at least a year. Nope. Been using this dongle for six months and it stopped recognizing my headphones then stopped working altogether.

    Only worked for a month.

    • Written by Steven D from Chicago

I had a different 3rd party adapter previously but had to 'upgrade' when I purchased an iPhone Xs, as it refused to recognize the adapter I already owned. The Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge Rockstar performed its job for 30 days, at which point it also ceased to be recognized by my device. The phone has no issues connecting to any other lightning connection, but the power and the audio connection for this dongle have completely failed.

My Cat's Fur Ball is of Greater Use Than This

    • Written by Joyce S from Dollard Des Ormeaux

Unreal, that the guy at the Apple store today was fully confident that this will allow me to use my Ur Beats for calls and listening to music while my phone was charging on my desktop dock. Have wasted more than an hour since buying this, this afternoon to have it work literally for 14 seconds and then cut out, (more than once) what a waste of my time and money. It is going back tomorrow. How stupid that I can't use my headphones with my phone charging on the dock. Seriously, at least with the fur ball, I know my cat's digestive system is working.

When charging and listening to music at the same time there is a huge amount of static coming through the speakers. When I remove the charge plug the sound is reasonably clear. This is very disappointing. The whole point of this thing is to be able to charge the device while listening to music through a 3.5 audio cable as a line out to a stereo or headphones. This is an epic fail that is very expensive for the consumer. I sure wish I'd read the reviews here before dropping $40. on this piece of junk.

Would give 0 Stars if possible

    • Written by Robert W from Gnas

Huge, cumbersome design makes this already a pretty horrible “solution” to an annoying inconvenience. But I’m fine with it, since I’m too much of an Apple fanboy, lol. Either way, this garbage dongle stopped working out of nowhere not even 2 months after purchase. Skimming this product review page, I’ve noticed in sock, I’m far from the only one. Rather go buy wireless headphones instead.

    Hate it but need it

    • Written by Camille B from Harvey

Like so many others, I've only rated this one star because zero stars is not a possible option. I have gone through 6 of these. Yes, 6. At this point, I believe I'm the crazy one for still falling for this product. Apple forces us to need this product though. What a design! To force us to buy AirPods, isn't it?

Lighting to 3.5mm + Charger -- no longer supports telephone calling

    • Written by William L from Concord

Losing the headphone jack for lots of iPhone customers is huge inconvenience. I do not like wireless headphones since another thing to lose or fail to have charged. But I can live with the adapter although poor customer service for Apple to now make you buy one to use your existing 3.5mm headsets.

But you cannot charge and use headsets at same time which is big problem. So, I purchased Belkin adapter and it stopped working for phone calls after a month. For $34 it was outrageously expensive to fix a problem that should not have arisen in the first place. That it is so shoddily made and there is no explanation as to why it failed or if fixing is an option, is doubly disappointing.

Shame on Apple, shame on Belkin. Oh well.....

    Faulty Product

    • Written by Karen A from Orlando

Purchased the accessory yesterday and it worked fine all day. Today I attempted to use it, and the audio function is not working - cannot talk on the phone and charge the device simultaneously. I am so disappointed that I have to take more time out of my day to go and exchange this, or return it and find a different solution. Apple claims that one of the reasons for removing the headphone jack was to have more space to introduce new technology. The decision to remove the jack was in no way innovative, it is just a huge inconvenience to your customer based that relied heavily on it and have no interest in wireless earphones. At the very least, give customers an option - make new models with and without the headphone jack option. Also, perhaps making the phones a little bigger to incorporate the new technology that you removed the jack for could be explored. It could give you the additional space needed without putting a large piece of your customer base through this degree of anguish. I can comfortably say that if the jack is not reintroduced on upcoming models, this will be the last iPhone I purchase. Thank you.
