    Very Dissapointed

I have had 2 of these like a previous reviewer has mentioned and both of them have broken down. I would urge everyone not to purchase this product as hey are very temperamental and your bound to lose all your information sooner or later.

I am using it for backups and as an external storage as well. I am nowhere close to 130MB/s. Full back up of my MBP 2017 (just about 200GB used) took around 10 hours maybe even more. Moving movies to the storage goes with the speed of 30MB/s at the best. Disappointed

Just the job and reasonable price

My Time Machine back up disc was showing signs of problems with the connector and was not working properly. My Mac has only usb2, I know I should get a modern one, but not at this time!
When I came across this drive I thought it was great value and came with two connecting leads, so it was bound to work. Delivery was quick and it worked out of the box. No need to reformat! The connecting lead was great and I quickly had it backing up my macine. It was a lot quicker that my old drive, not up to usb3 standards, but very acceptable. It has continued to work for a couple of weeks and will last a long time, I am sure.
    Very happy with it.

    Great Product!

    Operating System: Windows

Great product, didn't work out of the box due to the OS but after reading the instructions to reformat it, it worked straight away, 931 GB of storage free to use for whatever I want. This drive is very fast, I can get up to 40 MB/s, but this will depend on the speed of YOUR internal hard drive.

PRO TIP: if you're watching a film or youtube and your hands are cold, if the drive has been spinning for a while, it gets nice and warm, nothing concerning but can be used as a hand warmer.
PRO TIP 2: It is a good idea to de fragment this drive once in a while as external drives do not have a regular de fragmenting schedule as an internal drive. A de fragmented drive performs better than a fragmented drive.

I’ve had 2 and had no success.

I bought both of mine at the Apple store. The first was right when I purchased my MacBook Air. I used it for backups and one day decided to do a factory reset on my computer because it was getting slow. I wanted to put some of my files back on and when I plugged in my g-drive the files were gone. Brought it to the Apple store and they said it seemed like a fluke. Lost everything but lucklily had some stuff backed up to Carbinate. Bought another G drive and within weeks the cord stopped fitting in snugly causing it to eject with the slightest movement. I’m very careful with my things. My MacBook is from 2011 and still looks brand new after constant everyday use. Will not be getting another G drive. Looking for better options now.

    Works perfectly

Plug and Play backup drive. it takes anywhere from 1-45 minutes ( Depending strongly on how much GB your backing up ) For it to complete a full backup. Deletes all old backups automatically so theres no fuss when you need extra space. Very lightweight but strong hard plastic casing to protect it. Takes up basically no room in my backpack and it needs no additional power cords to work. Cant ask for any better.
