    Get it right Apple

    • Written by Melissa R from Albemarle

This is the fifth one of these I've purchased in 4 years. They get kinked and stop working very easily. Apple needs to make a more durable power cord. I honestly think Apple doesn't make a durable cord so that they can make more money. I'm very disappointed and considering all of the other cell phone options now available I will be looking into them. I never had to purchase additional power cords with other branded phones. Very disappointed!

    Apple, do you care?

    • Written by Jill J from London

    Dear Apple,
Do you know why I am on your website? No? It's ok, I'll tell you. I am ordering yet another cable. Why oh why is this still an issue? Wrap some hard cable, electrical, tape, heck-even some duct tape around those cables! You have the best and brightest creators but seriously, they aren't working on the cables. You can't promote the best phones and sell them with less than stellar cables. Well, I guess you can and you are....and people like me have to keep buying them. Yes, I know you say I can send them back if they are under warranty. I shouldn't have to! Please, I'm begging you....fix this!

    RUBBISH

    • Written by Annmarie A from London

I am on my third cable since January this year. The wires either pull out of the end or simply snap. This is not to mention the fact that they are so riduclously short they are hardly usable. I have to place my ipad and iphone on the floor to charge them. Then there is the price of the chargers - £25 for 2 months use that equals £150 per year.

    TOTAL COSDWALLOP. Wake up Apple.

    Useless

    • Written by Stacey T from Bradford

Believe me when I say, I have spent the same amount of money it would take to buy a new iPhone on chargers. They are completely useless, they break easily and some of these chargers haven't even lasted a week. I can't even say how many I've been through in 18 months of my upgrade because I've lost count. Apple need to sort it out. I have been a dedicated apple fan from the very start, but the experience with these chargers and the iPhone 5 have completely put me off. I shall never have an iPhone again, I'm converting to Samsung on my upgrade, apple have lost a customer.

Terrible quality. Not durable in any way.

    • Written by Matthew T from Glasgow

The cable jacket, that is the white rubber that goes around the wire of the cable, is simply utter rubbish. It is the thinnest of rubber, kinda like stretched chewing gum. All other wires are made of pvc, whilst Apple uses thin rubber. The cable will last, at most for 5-6 months before failing completely. The people that are saying that the cables last years, know as well as I do that this is not true. The cable is of the lowest standard of quality I have seen on any wire and for the price charged this is absolutely appalling. The wire is marketed for portable products, therefore, it should be designed in a way that is built to last. It should not be the case that a slight turn of the wire causes the rubber jacket to fray. I am starting to believe that the cables are designed in such a poor quality so that, along with Apples restrictions on third party wires, you have to buy a new one every since months. I find it simply appalling giving customers this wire with 600 to 700 products.

Apple! Why aren’t you listening to us??

    • Written by Jacob R from Frostproof

Dear Apple, we the customers have been begging you guys to get better charging cables for years now! We constantly have to buy your $30 chargers over and over and over again. All we ask for is a longer lasting cable yet we are presented with facial recognition to unlock the newest iPhone. If our phones can be smart enough to unlock by scanning our face why can’t the cables last more than 3 months. If our phones are strong enough to stand up to being taken in the water why can’t our cables last for more than 3 months. Samsung cables last forever and when they do break after being used for years they are a lot cheaper to replace. If we are paying a $1000 for our phones why are the charger built like we are only paying $1 for them. It’s hard to sell the best phone and have the worst cables.
    Signed a begging loyal customer.

Darned if you do and darned if you don't.

    • Written by William L from Middleton

It is frustrating to be years into buying an Apple Cable being almost always throwing money away because they don't hold up, and buying a non-Apple but certified Lightening cable is almost always throwing money away because they're not reliable even if they don't fall apart.

It's a bigger frustration when you're an IT Pro. You use technology a lot. You depend on it. You see Apple boast about the environment but the cables are creating unnecessary waste. Cables I get from other first tier tech vendors last, they work, and they're priced well.

Please, start making a cable that lasts or cut your price.

    0 stars if I could

    • Written by Laura G from Corinth

Why must I keep buying your crappily made cables? Oh that's right, because you can make the hardware to not recognize a non-apple brand charging cord but you can't figure out how to keep the cord from falling apart after normal use. And here I thought you guys were geniuses. My bad.

    • Written by Chris M from Marlboro

You would think that Apple would apply the same quality to their cables as they do their product lineup...Apple, PLEASE improve the durability of these cables near the point of insertion(failure point).

Buy some Sugru and put it on your cord when you take it out of the box

    • Written by Joshua F from Jonesboro

Any cord that you constantly plug and unplug will wear out over time. Buy some Sugru and put it on the cord before you use it. It is a putty that you can mold and shape that will stiffen up after 24 hours. It is a few bucks per pack and 1 pack will work for both ends of the cord. It comes in cool colors and will last for years in the refrigerator until you need to use it.

where's the class action lawsuit on this thing?

    • Written by Jason L from Portland

When I read the few positive reviews, they come across as sarcasm to me. BECAUSE THIS CORD IS THAT BAD. The margin on this thing for all of us with iPhone 5 and up and iPads to replace them every 3 months must be paying for a third of Campus 2 Apple spaceship. The "Not Cutting the Cord" arc.

    Garbage cable charger!

    • Written by Kimberly F from Maricopa

I have gone through more charger cables than I can count! I can't use a generic charger cable or it won't work more than 2-3 times with any Apple devices so I have to keep spending a lot of money on Apple charger cables. Seems everyone else that has written a review has the same problem... Apple has such high tech devices why can't you make some charger cables that are more durable at the point were the wire meets the adapter?! Every single set of charger cables have failed at that exact spot! Come on, get it together please!
