    Apple ripping off loyal users

    • Written by Umesh P from Kansas City

Very poor quality cable which has stopped working in the first 3 months of the purchase and apple refuse to get that covered under warranty

Pls stop ripping people off or at least provide this at a reasonable amount - certainly not RM 79 for a 0.5 mtr cable

    Unreliable

    • Written by Laura S from Palmerston north

These cables are unreliable and break quite often! Have been through multiple and do not mistreat them. To make matters worse we can no longer use most cables. If your going to do this maybe you guys should make your cables sturdier, especially considering the price we have to pay

    Useless

    • Written by Stacey T from Bradford

Believe me when I say, I have spent the same amount of money it would take to buy a new iPhone on chargers. They are completely useless, they break easily and some of these chargers haven't even lasted a week. I can't even say how many I've been through in 18 months of my upgrade because I've lost count. Apple need to sort it out. I have been a dedicated apple fan from the very start, but the experience with these chargers and the iPhone 5 have completely put me off. I shall never have an iPhone again, I'm converting to Samsung on my upgrade, apple have lost a customer.

    RUBBISH

    • Written by Annmarie A from London

I am on my third cable since January this year. The wires either pull out of the end or simply snap. This is not to mention the fact that they are so riduclously short they are hardly usable. I have to place my ipad and iphone on the floor to charge them. Then there is the price of the chargers - £25 for 2 months use that equals £150 per year.

    TOTAL COSDWALLOP. Wake up Apple.

    Worst apple product

    • Written by CHEN Z from Singapore

So far the worst product apple ever had, my original apple charging cable is too short. This longer version cost much more than usual charging cables. And the quality is low. It breaks after few month of use. And those third party cables I use have much better built quality. With stronger cable wire, and solid connectors. Yet apple keeps reminding me the accessories not certified and prevent me charging my phone. If apple could not design a proper product, please DO NOT prevent others do a better job for you! I am very annoyed by the charging cable!!!!

    My cable and wall adapter

    • Written by Isabella T from Adelaide

My cable and wall adapter after purchasing the iPhone5S broke only two months later leaving me with no phone or charger. This is poor considering how much money we pay for the phones we should at least get a charger that works and continues to work for longer then 2 months, it is such an inconvenience considering how often phones are being used these days. You make people pay great deals of money for the phone and not worrying about the quality of the chargers. They are very important and should work just as well as the phone. It becomes expensive and we shouldn't have to keep getting new ones.

    $39? For a USB cable?

    • Written by Daniel W from Little Lonsdale Street

I could _possibly_ come at paying $19.00 for a genuine Apple USB cable. But $39? Not a hope. For that price, the charger should be included! I'll take my chances with non-original cables -- I could buy 6 - 10 of them for the same price Apple is charging for one! Apple is being disingenuous and effectively forcing people to buy a non-genuine cable with pricing like this -- which could lead to poor customer experience and damage to the Apple brand. Yes, everyone knows accessories are almost all profit, but for a cable that literally costs less than $1 to manufacture and ship to Australia, this pricing is highway robbery.

    Very disappointed

    • Written by Ben A from Fortitude Valley

I own about 10 of these cables. Each at a cost of $25 each, you wouldn't expect the end to start fraying after 6-12 months of use for such an enormous price.

You pay a premium for a quality product, not an inferior one. Apple slipped up with these cables. Not happy and will be demanding a free replacement.

    Still going strong!

    • Written by B P from Bruce

A year and a half since I bought mine, and still working fine. I use them every night (and most of the time, all day while I use my iPad) with my iPhone 5, 5s, and iPad Air. I've read the reviews and am very surprised. I must be really lucky!

    Very frustrating

    • Written by Michele D from Auckland

Can't imagine that Apple extensively tested the Lightning charger. At first I thought it was a good design. It's smaller than the old 30pin and goes in either way. But now, after purchasing 5 or 6 new cables I've given up. The original Apple Lighting cable lasted about 6 months. The next one we purchased was a knock-off that didn't last a month. The next three were Belkin "Apple certified" cables. The last one was an Apple.

Tried cleaning out the port to remove any lint but nothing seems to work. Very frustrating.

Apple - I love your products but you NEED TO FIX THIS

Wish I could give LESS then 1 star

    • Written by Paul C from Mount Cotton

Here we go again, yet another charger cable needed always failing at the pin. Honestly you guys are supposed to be technical wizards. May I make a suggestion and tell you to see how a nurse inserts an IV and then loops and secures it so that the patient doesn't rip it out of their arm by mistake. Not foolproof if they want it out but works for a compliant patient. The loop prevents the IV from bending and cutting off the flow, in case of a charger it would stop it braking the casing and wiring. So from a non techie SHAME ON YOU UP YOUR GAME. So many house fires have been caused by people buying cheap non Apple chargers well I understand I am retired on a pension, but also disabled and can't afford to keep buying replacements. If you can design phones, computers and software and I can put back together a human body weighing the scales you should be able to make a lead that doesn't fail constantly. Or is it the revenue? Oh of course it is! I hope this helps others i am looking at a docking station or wifi mat. My score ZERO.

    Poorly Designed for everyday use

    • Written by Jonathan S from Seventeen Mile Rocks

Apple keep blocking the use of third party cables, yet the 3rd party manufacturers are the ones actually improving the design of this. The apple cable is too thin especially where it joins the lighting connector, constantly fraying or tearing from daily use of pulling in and out, or using the phone whilst charging causing the cable to bend.

It is such a poor design that for a few cents extra could be fixed, and has been by many third party manufacturers. It is arrogance from Apple that is screwing over customers with such a poorly designed yet essential accessory
