    Lasts 6 months

    • Written by Samuel R from Costa Mesa

Don't bother. The convenience of the length is negated by the fact you have to buy a new one 6 months later. I treated mine like any other cable and it started not charging unless I inserted a certain way, then not at all.

    Seriously do better

    • Written by Alexia W from Macon

I’ve only had this cord since the end of December and it’s already curling up and saying the accessory is not supported. I have spent way too much money on a apple cord for it to not even last me a dang year. This just doesn’t make any sense Apple. Please do better or send me another one or something because I need to charge my phone. If i buy a cheap charger it won’t last long either so what are we really supposed to do here with this messed up charging cord we have? I feel you all should come up with a better idea for cords. A new material because this is just a no no

Lighting to USB cord 1m and 2m

    • Written by Fred G from Fort McMurray

I bought a 2m cord for the SUV so the person in the back seat can run an iPod Air 2 while traveling long distances. It worked up until the second to last ios update and now I get a Not Charging message. Still works for the iPhone. (?) Bought a 1m cord for home for my iPad Air 2; its about a year old, that has pulled apart at the lighting end (wire sheathing broke from the thicker rubber section and No I don't unplug it incorrectly) Product can't take the flexing while going from Portrait to Landscape while in different apps. Be nice if Apple replaces their faulty cords since it costs us enough to buy these cords in the first place. How about it Apple!!

    Not satisfied at all

    • Written by Siniša L from Lovran

Bought 3 of those cables two months ago - in comparison with 1m version, they seem to be done somehow "lesser", in sense of quality. Furthermore, one of those cables I threw away already, did not work with any iPad 4 or with iPad Air. Not recommended by me...

Total rubbish, this needs to be improved

    • Written by Karl S from Irvine

$29 for a cable that breaks in around 2 months. This is not an over exaggeration at all. The rubber on the cable just falls to bits and then after a while it stops working at all. Apple, have you ever heard of a braided cable? They don’t fall apart, start making braided cables please or look into a material to surround the cable that doesn’t fall apart. Also the actual lighting cable plastic surround cracks as well.

Summary - do not buy this cable, it is a total waste of money and you better off with a cable from the 99 cense store, it actually last longer believe it or not!

Do not buy these cables for iPad Air 2!!!

    • Written by David W from Mebane

I have been a very happy Apple customer until now. I have bought many generations of many Apple products from the Nano to Macbooks to the iPhone 3 to 7 Plus. I have kept my original cables and chargers and they all still work great. I bought the longer 2m Lightning-USB cables because I was concerned I was going to short out these shorter original cables. So I buy two of the 2m length Lightning-USB to supplement my originals and use my original charging block. Essentially the 2m works great with my iPhone 7 and I am pleased with it in that aspect. However, my iPad Air 2 says "not charging" regardless what I do. The website here does say it's compatible with this older iPad. However the 1m cable with the same original charger block does still work. These 2m cables simply do not work in the iPad Air 2.

I’m switching phones, due to Apple not being able to make or not willing to make durable cords... I’m tired of buying multiple cords and buying cords that are not recognized by apple ..... RIDICULOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bad Cable

    • Written by Crystal E from District Heights

Bought one of these cause they are longer, but let me tell you its a waste of money. Within the first week, I already saw wear within the cable. 6 months later I have to buy another cable...and I tired to salvage it. You think six months is long? It's not. The original cable I had when I got my phone lasted for a year and some months, and could of went on longer until someone stole mine. Like others this cable is bad. One star.

My fairly new Cable does not work...

    • Written by Matthew M from North York

So when I originally bought the cable i was glad, thinking finally they have a longer cable and after a while of using the cable I realize my phone battery wasn't being charged, then noticed it just stopped working all together, whether being plugged into the wall, by computer or even portable battery.

I don't have a receipt, as i bought it sometime ago, but will be marching into a store tomorrow and demanding a replacement as this is fairly ridiculous, the cost for the cable is outrageous to begin with and now it doesn't work? UNACCEPTABLE,

DO NOT BUY THIS CABLE STICK TO THE 1METER CABLE!!!!! You have been warned!!!

    Do Not Buy!

    • Written by Abigail K from Austin

I am seriously shocked. I got this cord for Christmas, just over a month ago. It already has stopped working. Absolutely nothing is wrong with the cord, it still looks brand new but no longer will charge a phone. I thought buying the actual Apple version versus a knockoff that this surely would not happen. And knowing Apple, i'd have to jump through 10 hoops to try to get a new one and would be out of luck with no receipt since it was a gift.

Paid a premium price for an accessory to ensure best possible performance (vs. buying cheaper non-Apple). And...it doesn't work. $29 for a cord!

    So disappointed.

    • Written by Constance R from Florence

I bought this cord even with the poor reviews, thinking maybe the others were in the habit of pulling the cord out of the electric source by yanking on the cord only. I have had the cord 4 months. EVERY time I removed it from the source I have removed it by the "collar" for lack of a better word. It simply quit working. No kinks, no rough manipulation. I guess I will go with whatever "knock off" that is rated well by amazon. Really, Apple? So disappointed.

    Poor quality, not durable

    • Written by Kenneth L from Richmond Hill

Other after market lightning cables have more choice in color, style and materials, they are much more durable and flexible than the Apple. Apple charges more but sadly giving poorer quality cable easily broken. Apple, please improve!!

No problems with Apple cable I bought

    • Written by Lesley P from Harrogate

Purchased Apple 2m cable and adaptor over a year ago with new iPad Pro. Not had any problem with it. I tend to leave cable plugged in to adaptor and just plug other end into iPad when needed. I think if you handle it gently it shouldn’t come apart as some people have experienced. I also bought a 1m cable and adaptor from another company to use elsewhere. Yes, it was cheaper but I find the cable too short to plug in directly to wall socket if I want to use iPad whilst it’s charging. Have to plug in to an extension socket. Also the cheaper one takes ages to fully recharge the iPad even when not in use. I suppose you get more reviews from unhappy customers to complain and there are many more satisfied customers who don’t bother to send a review.

    Weak design

    • Written by Dan G from South Haven

You have be extremely gentle with these, if you get a slight kink in the end it will fail. Going to try the Anker brand 6’ cable, 5 star reviews on those. These also do not work correctly with a 12 watt charger. You have to unplug and plug it back in the wall every time you plug in the phone. The 3’ cable works fine. Never had this issue with mini USB, even cheap ones. I would avoid and go with a good brand aftermarket for less money.
