I purchased the product in October 2017 and it’s lasted approx 6 months I don’t feel the durability of the product is good enough compared to cheaper alternatives on the market . This was taken up at an apple store to no avail

Quite dissapointed for a premium product

    Battery Case - Charcoal Grey

Charging works well but the case quality is very poor. The silicone bubbled up within nine months and completely fell apart within 14 months. Apple denied warranty because I did not take the case in during the warranty period of 12 months. I bought a Mophie charger with my 5S and it still looks like new. Apple am I very disappointed and I am sure you don't care.

    Save your money

Dead after 3 months. Took it back to the store and got a replacement. The second one lasted until the day after the warranty. I took it to the store and they wouldn't help even though it was just past that time...smh. Never again!

    Limited lifetime

We purchased two of these for our iPhones. While they have kept the phones charged, the silicone has delaminated and both cases now look like garbage after six months (they were bought at Christmas). If you like your phone to appear tidy and fresh, I don’t recommend this product. Mophie has sent free replacements for cracked products on previous phones, Apple will just sell us a new battery case at full cost. Look elsewhere. Y

    4 months

I bought this expecting something well made from apple and this case lasted 3 months before the rubber on the case started coming apart and the battery in the case won't last a full day anymore

    May not be supported...

It used to work fine. However, after the last several iOS updates, the iPhone sometimes beeps continually while showing a message saying the accessory is not supported by this device. It's an Apple product for an Apple product, and it's incompatible? (It's not the charger, because the incompatibility is reported while using the original charger and cable.) Moreover, I sometimes have to remove the iPhone from this case and re-insert it so that the battery level of the case will be recognized and displayed. Sometimes I have to do this to get the lightning symbol to appear next to the case, even though the iPhone has that symbol showing it's being charged. The power goes through the case to the iPhone, so having the case unpowered while the iPhone is powered is anomalous. Finally, having to pay attention to the working of the hardware is hardly convenient. I'm looking for a cheaper, MFI certified battery case that is less bulky and, I hope, more reliable.

    Awful design poor product

This is a useless battery backup since 1/2 (or more) of the time it does not work.
Why don't they have a zero or negative star rating?

The battery is most often not recognized by the iOS. One third of the time the phone will not even see the case is connected, another third of the time the phone says "this accessory may not be supported", How True!
The iOS sometimes thinks it is a 'Smart Battery Case', sometimes thinks it is an 'A1585', and sometimes an 'Apple Inc.'

The battery is supposed to be smart; 1st charge the phone battery, then charging the case battery, then in discharge it is supposed to 1st discharge the case battery keeping the phone topped off (so if the case is removed you will stil have a charged phone), then finally it is supposed to let the phone battery discharge.
It Does Not do that most of the time!
It will let the phone battery discharge until the phone dies, then after I get the phone charged up to 10% and the phone powered up I can see using the widget that the case battery is still at 98 to 100%.
What Good Was Having A $100 Battery Case???? NO GOOD.

The mechanical degign of the connectors is very poor.
    - The connection from case to phone is very flacky. My son has one and his is too.
A third of the time when putting the phone in the case the phone there will be no connection made. When a connection is made the connection will drop and reconnect for no apparent reason. I have had the phone beep at me over and over telling me the case is disconnected, then reconnected, then disconnected, ... -- And it will go on for up to a minute sometimes even when the phone is just sitting on a table, not being moved or touched.
    - The connector for plugging in the power cable is a poor design.
It is on a curved part on the case so when the cable is plugged in the cable is subject to rocking and not connecting well. At time the cable can be plugged in and the case will not recognize it (the display will not pop-up showing the batteries). At oother times the display will pop-up showing the two batteries; but sometimes show the case is powered from the cable and the phone is not powered by the case, and at other times showing the phone is powered by the case but the case is not powered by the cable.

DO NOT BUY - A waste of money.
Try the Mor[phie one instead. Less expensive and I have head from others it works.

Silicone outer coating peels away like crazy

While the battery works just fine, the grippy silicone coating is not durable at all, it peels at the corners first, then like a fast growing cancer, peels and tears appear all over the case. Looks terrible. I'm tempted to pick all the coating off the case and just use sans coating.

One great Apple product! Just amazing

I think its one Really great iphone case. I bought my charcoal IPhone case 1 month ago. It has started to peel a little bit but i Really dont care. Its a case that i responsibly for protecting your device, not Mainly too look Nice. It’s a little pricey but so are the other apple products. My point is if you have enough to buy this case you should! It’s one great case and with very good battery capacity if your iPhone has a bad battery or if you just want more capacity. It has an amazing design and feels so premium! I really recommend this!! Good job Apple

Bought this case in 07/2016: Still works perfectly

I had my doubts about this case but since I was living in HI and spent hours at the beach I didn’t want to run out of power. So I took a chance and went for the ugly, clunky, heavy, silicone Apple case with the giant tumor on the back. I can say after two years of almost daily taking the phone in and out of the case (for my daily run since the case won’t fit inside my arm band) that this case has held up phenomenally well. It still keeps my phone charged and I haven’t noticed it getting hot while charging either. I like how it fits in my hand and the grippy feel of the silicone has helped me keep a hold on it more than once. I had the Mophie Juice for my 6 but I like this case better. Thanks Apple. Don’t know if I’ll invest in it again when I move to the 8–or whatever comes next, but my 6s is running strong so I’ll just hold out.

    But but not tough enough

This works really well. Have owned it and the phone for 2 years now. Most days my phone is still fully charged till late afternoon and that then lasts me till bedtime. It integrates nicely, with both the case and the phone battery’s shown on the notification screen.
The shape isn’t to everyone liking but I’m fine with it.
    Down side are;
    Cost. £99!
The case has split around the top edges. Ok this maybe because I keep it in my pocket, but the rubber has come away around the whole thing. It’s still works fine and the broken bits are superglued into place! Although the phone itself is in perfect condition so maybe it’s just doing its job.

    Apple Has Done it Again!
    Great Product.
I WOULD Recommend for this EVERYONE. The battery does stick out, but not very bad. Does get a little warm while charging. But great product. The case also protects the phone. When you drop it, it always lands on the back and not the screen.
    Thank You Apple!

    Great product

    1. For the past 3 hours I’ve been using my phone nonstop and the battery status is still at 100%.
    2. Nice feel to the phone - the nonslip surface makes it ideal for resting against objects - less likely to slip out of a shirt
    3. The phones audio sounds better - more body.
    4. Beautifully integrates with phone.

    Cons (not really any)

    1. Slightly heavier and bulkier, but it’s been designed so well that this issue is minimal. The extra weight has some adavantages when resting the phone securely against another object in combination with the nonslip case texture. Also, the slight bulge at the back from the extra battery helps secure the phone in a top shirt pocket from slipping out too easily.

Bottom line, This product solved the problem I was having with battery life, and exceeded my expectations.

I have owned this case for less than two months and I haven’t dropped it or done anything to make a damage and the case has started to peel off. The battery is awesome but it looks all worn down from little activity and I am very disappointed. This product cost two much for what it turned out to be in a couple months... again very dissapointed.

    Shoddy workmanship

Fundamentally, this is a good and helpful product. But the workmanship of the case is not worthy of the apple brand. it has completely fallen apart. I have had friends comment on my pathetic looking case, but at this price point, it's hard to justify tossing out. As well, I really do find the battery useful and is required due to the minimal battery life on my iPhone. Apple has refused to replace. IMO it just makes them look bad. Don't bother purchasing...just get an external juice pack.

Silicone out side is nice and grippy, inside is nice and soft. It lasts me the whole day (12 hours of use) and it charges with the the lightening connecter. A must buy.

    Don’t Buy

I rarely write reviews but figured this one is worth my time. First of all the price of the case does not correlate to the quality of the product. The case very easily falls apart. Battery life is worthy but the fact that the case falls apart so abruptly makes the case useless. I still have the case present on my phone for use of the battery pack. The case now offers little protection to the actual phone. The rubber edges that are supposed to cover a portion of the screen has deteriorated. I dropped the phone and the screen is now cracked because of this useless case. Don’t buy... if I could give negative stars I would at the fact that now I have a phone with a cracked screen.
