    Nonsensical Mouse

    • Written by JC W from Spalding

Mouse not as responsive as my ‘bog standard’ wired mouse even
    at fastest setting.
As other reviewer stated, why is charger point on the underside?
The mouse is rendered unusable whilst charging.
    It’s nonsensical!
    I’m frustrated.

Best place for this mouse is the Garbage Bin. Loses connectivity every 2-3 minutes. Have to wait 10-15 second for it to connect again. Apple swapped out my mouse with a "new" mouse but was not in a box, which was fine for a week and then started to fail. Back to the Apple Mouse 1 (with batteries) that works fine. Apple Mouse 2 is a piece of garbage and a complete waste of money. Also agree about the design flaw with the charger underneath! AVOID!!!

Great product don't believe the negatitvity

    • Written by Alice W from Philadelphia

Honestly after getting a MacBook Air I needed a mouse but was afraid because of the terribly low reviews. But one day I took the time to read through them and realized people are insane! I purchased it and it's awesome. Honestly no complaints at all, I've had it for nearly a month and it's still on 85%!. I love the scroll and ease of use. People are so silly giving this product a low rating, it only deserves a 5 star, great use, very attractive design, and magical :) my only wish is that it came in a pink/rose gold to match my MacBook Air.

Not worth it and bad purchase

    • Written by Adam Z from Parker

The mouse is very expensive and is not anywhere near the price it should be. The mouse is very sensitive and will scroll, click, and do stuff when you didn't do those things. It takes hours to charge. Apple should have stuck with regular ports rather than bluetooth mouses

    An awful mouse

    • Written by John M from Stoneham

This mouse has been awful since day one. It's super low-profile shape makes it difficult to comfortable fit in your hand. The scrolling mechanism likes to pick up ghost input and often times randomly scrolls up and down. It also will "see" a right click when you left click, a lot. It is an all around bad design, I'm surprised Apple has had this mouse out for as long as it has. I guess they feel if their mouse is bad, more people will switch to the trackpad. But for mouse users, you are not going to be happy with this.

    Very good, but not perfect

    • Written by Laurie R from North Andover

To the reviewer who wrote a scathing review focusing on other reviewers who left a one star review I say this....every one is entitled to their opinion! To spend an ample amount of review space scolding others for their opinions is rather arrogant and frankly, not what a review of the product should be about. That said, here is my take on the Magic Mouse. I like it because it doesn't require any batteries. I used to spend a lot of money on lithium batteries with my other mouse and find this Magic Mouse a delight because there is no more expense on batteries and no more danger to the planet when you have to discard them. The charge on this mouse lasts a long time. Like a really long time. My only complaint, which is why I gave it 4 stars out of 5, is how the mouse is charged. You have to turn the mouse upside down because the charging port is on the underside of the mouse. So while it's charging you can't use it. However, it really doesn't take all that long to charge fully. Certainly not an overnight thing. I keep a watch on the battery life every so often so it doesn't run out when I'm in the middle of something. But the charge on this mouse lasts for months. not weeks, and I use my Mac a lot. I hope this review helps others. I give Apple an A- grade on this mouse. This mouse is so much better than having to replace batteries like the older ones.

For some reason every time my Mac goes to sleep when I log back on, my mouse is unresponsive I have to go threw the hassle of turning on and off the magic mouse until it starts working again, not sure if its connectivity issue or not because once i turn the magic mouse off my Mac shows a mouse disconnected pop up, meaning it was still connected its just unresponsive.

How does a company so integral to the world of design create such a poorly designed product? By far the most frustrating and uncomfortable piece of tech I have ever used by Apple; whomever designed this mouse must hate anyone with hands! After five minutes of using this mouse, I was ready to throw it through my computer screen. Using this mouse for design work would be like running a marathon in flip-flops; it's possible but no one with any sense would do it. Shame I have to even give it 1 star... Come on Apple, be better.

    Can't use while recharging

    • Written by Hannah T from Washington

Terrible design. On a previous version of this mouse, you could recharge it via a slot on the top of the mouse, allowing you to plug it into your computer and continue using it while the product recharged. Why would Apple redesign it to have the slot for the charging cable on the underside of the mouse? I'm getting rid of this product and going back to a version that takes replaceable double AA batteries.

    Charging a Mouse

    • Written by Stephanie C from Mastic beach

I love all apple products. The only thing I am very upset with is how exactly you have to charge your mouse for the Mac. Why would Apple make a product that you cannot use while charging???? This is crazy to me!!!

Please make a mouse that can be used while being charged!!!!

STAY AWAY - mouse will give you carpel tunnel syndrome

    • Written by Ashley A from Chicago

This is the most uncomfortable mouse on the planet. Some of the features are nice, but its an ergonomic disaster. You are risking injuring your wrist by using this mouse. Do not buy this. ANY Logitech mouse is better than this.

i can't believe Apple designers couldn't figure out how to position the charging cable for this mouse in such a way that it COULD BE USED WHILE CHARGING! am i supposed to just take a little break in the middle of the work-day when my mouse is out of juice? seriously poor design.

Has a mind of its own...not Apple quality of old.

    • Written by Bernard C from Highlands

I had a laser mouse for two years and no problems at all. This Magic Mouse 2 is 6 months old and malfunctions all the time. It will zoom in on a screen when it wants, fail to open up a link when clicked and as for scrolling, it's so jittery, it's like risking a bicycle over train tracks. The lady at Apple was very helpful but nothing we did over the course of 45 minuted made a difference. She said that if I installed Mojave my problems would go away. They did for half an hour and then back to the above issues.

    Rechargeable!!! LOVE THIS!

    • Written by Wendy E from Palmer

Finally! I don't have to keep buying batteries for our mouse! I love the fact that it now has a rechargeable battery, just like our phones and iPads. Feels the same in my hand and works great!! Don't know why there are so many negative reviews.

Feels good in your hand but what idiot thought that putting the recharging station on the bottom of the mouse was a good thing. Mouse is completely unusable whilst its being recharged and have to plug in a wired mouse to continue being able to do my work. Stupid stupid design.

Magic Mouse 2 DOES NOT WORK on cloth mouse pads

    • Written by Dorothy P. R from Atlanta

The claim that the magic mouse 2 works on all surfaces is false. My magic mouse 2 works fine with no tracking errors when I use on my wood desktop. As soon as I place it on a standard cloth mousepad (to protect my desktop from wear) the magic mouse 2 stops tracking. It stops completely, you can't get it to move. No other optical mouse I've tried has this problem with the mouse pad. As soon as I put the magic mouse 2 on the desktop it starts working again. I have tried this with multiple cloth mouse pads and the result is always the same. I have not been able to find any good information about what mouse pads are effective for this mouse. Shame on Apple for making bogus claims and not providing correct information about their product.
