Intel’s fourth-generation Dual-core processors house the processor, L3 cache, Intel Iris Graphics, and fast 1600MHz memory controller on a single chip.
This Mac mini comes standard with 8GB of 1600MHz LPDDR3 memory. Please note that the memory is built into the computer, so if you think you may need more memory in the future, it is important to upgrade at the time of purchase.
More memory (RAM) increases performance and enables your computer to perform faster and better. Choose additional 1600MHz LPDDR3 memory for your Mac mini.
The more memory your computer has, the more programs you can run simultaneously, and the better performance you get from your computer.
For maximum performance, you can configure your Mac mini with up to 1TB PCIe-based flash storage instead of a traditional hard drive. Flash storage delivers up to 9x the performance of a traditional drive* — speed you’ll notice when you start up your Mac mini, launch an app, or browse your photo library.
Fusion Drive combines 128GB of superfast flash storage with a traditional hard drive. And it’s up to 4x faster than a 5400-rpm hard drive.** It automatically and dynamically moves frequently used files to flash for quicker access. With Fusion Drive in your Mac mini, booting up, copying files, and importing photos are faster. Over time, as the system learns how you work, Fusion Drive makes your Mac experience even better. All while letting you store your digital life on a traditional, roomy hard drive.
Note: 1GB = 1 billion bytes; 1TB = 1 trillion bytes. Actual formatted capacity less.
*Testing conducted by Apple in October 2014 using preproduction 3.0GHz dual-core Intel Core i7-based Mac mini units with 1TB solid-state drive, configured with 16GB RAM and preproduction 2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5-based Mac mini units with a 1TB 5400-rpm hard drive, configured with 8GB RAM. Testing conducted using Iometer 2006.07.27 with a 30-second ramp-up, 5-minute run duration, 512KB request size, 8 outstanding IOs, and 150GB test file. Average rotational media performance calculated by creating the test file on the outer, middle, and inner sectors of the drive and averaging the results from all three measurements. Performance tests are conducted using specific computer systems and reflect the approximate performance of Mac mini.

The Apple HDMI to DVI Adapter allows you to connect your Mac with built-in HDMI to a DVI display or projector. You can use an external display as your primary display, extend your desktop to a second display, or work in mirroring mode with a projector so you can view what your audience sees.
Use the HDMI to DVI Adapter to connect a single-link DVI digital monitor, such as the 20-inch or 23-inch Apple Cinema Display, that includes a DVI connector. Review the documentation or check with the manufacturer of your monitor to make sure you're choosing the right adapter.
Both Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2 are wireless and rechargeable — so you won’t have to replace any batteries — and are a perfect complement to your Mac mini. You can also connect your own USB or Bluetooth mouse.
The design of Magic Mouse 2 lets it glide smoothly across your desk. And since it supports Multi-Touch, you can use simple gestures on its surface to do things such as swipe between web pages and scroll through documents. So if you prefer using a wireless mouse and want some of the benefits of Multi-Touch, Magic Mouse 2 is a great choice.
If you prefer using a trackpad, Magic Trackpad 2 gives you the full range of Multi-Touch gestures and introduces Force Touch technology to the desktop. Sensors underneath the trackpad surface detect subtle differences in the amount of pressure you apply, bringing more functionality to your fingertips and enabling a deeper connection to your content. The design also features a lower profile, making it even more comfortable to use.
The wired Apple Mouse features a scroll ball that lets you move anywhere inside a document without lifting a finger. And with touch-sensitive technology concealed under the seamless top shell, you can choose either the versatility of a four-button mouse or the simplicity of a single-button beauty. The Apple Mouse is powered by a precision optical sensor.
Mac mini ships without a keyboard, but it works with virtually any Bluetooth or USB keyboard. If you don’t already own one that you want to use with your Mac mini, you can add the Magic Keyboard or the Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad to your purchase. (Note that your keyboard and Mac mini will be shipped separately.)
The Magic Keyboard is wireless and rechargeable (so you won’t be replacing batteries), and its ultracompact, edge-to-edge design wastes no surface space. Magic Keyboard has full-size function keys, an enhanced scissor mechanism, and a lower profile that provide a more precise and comfortable typing experience.
Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad has an extended layout with document navigation controls for quick scrolling, full-size arrow keys and a numeric keypad. Like Magic Keyboard, it’s designed with a low profile for control and comfort. And the built-in, rechargeable battery lasts long enough to power your keyboard for about a month or more between charges.1
You can configure your Mac with one of the keyboard languages listed.
macOS lets you choose your preferred language for use throughout the OS, including apps, menu bar, dialogue boxes, and for reading and writing text. Select any of the languages supported by macOS during the setup process at any time using System Preferences.
1Testing conducted by Apple in April 2017 using preproduction Magic Keyboard devices, firmware, and software with shipping iMac systems. Testing consisted of full battery discharge while engaging the device on a paired iMac using automated equipment. Battery life depends on device settings, usage, and other factors.
