  • Overview

iKlip Grip is the new multifunctional video stand with Bluetooth shutter control for iPhone, iPod touch, compact video cameras, audio field recorders and more. iKlip Grip is 4 accessories in one: desktop tripod, grip handler, monopod, and tripod adapter, that can securely hold any iPhone or iPod touch model with or without a case, and also features a standard mounting system for connecting small mobile video cameras like GoPro, compact digital cameras and stand-mount audio field recorders.

    Get a Grip

The secret to iKlip Grip lies in its ingenious expandable and secure holding bracket that allows you to precisely position any iPhone or iPod touch model at any angle for capturing photos, video, and audio. iKlip Grip features an expandable spring-loaded soft-touch rubber bracket that provides secure superior holding power. Repositioning of an iPhone or iPod touch is as simple as expanding the brackets to release the device, then re-securing it. The iKlip Grip holding bracket features standard 1/4"-20 tripod screw threads so it can be mounted to any standard tripod as a mobile device adapter.

    Make a stand

Its ergonomic design is pretty easy to hold all night. And while the base for iKlip Grip serves as a sturdy, steady handle when you're at a concert or trying to grab the perfect shot of the band for your Facebook feed, it also transforms itself into a compact tabletop tripod you can position on any relatively level surface for ultra-steady media gathering. Flip the legs out and you've got yourself a nice tabletop tripod for your iPhone or camera.

    Extend your reach

The iKlip Grip truly has a "telescoping detachable tube" that extends your reach by a full 17.5 in./45 cm so positioning your camera, iPhone or recorder in the right spot is even easier. Plus, iKlip Grip has a pivoting ball-joint attachment point that provides a full 90° angle adjustment plus 360° rotation capabilities of the device. This allows you to get just the right angle and position for that perfect shot.

    Bluetooth shutter remote control

iKlip Grip comes with a Bluetooth shutter remote control that lets users remotely activate the shutter button in video and photo apps. The remote can be operated up to 32.8 ft./10 m away from the device, perfect for capturing live performances, family vacation photos, movies, and selfies.

Not convenient to use, construction not impressive

I thought the combination of a tabletop tripod (with extension arm) and wireless shutter trigger in a really compact form factor made for a must-have product for any iPhone photo enthusiast. The packaging was good quality and the instruction manual was pretty easy to go through. But there are a lot of cons for this product that make me consider returning it: 1. Poor design: Going from a table top tripod to an extend tripod is not a quick plug and twist operation. It requires un-screwing, attaching extension arm and re-screwing. Not a very smart design, and would take at least a few minutes each time. 2. In the table top format it was really challenging to fix the phone (iPhone 6) vertically. Took a lot of twisting and adjustment for the ball head to allow this. And after setting it up the tripod looked quite unsteady in this setup, about to topple over in the slightest push/wind. 3. Overall build quality is quite plasticky, and this contributes to the unsteadiness. Recommendation to improve design: 1. An easier and quicker way to go from tabletop to extended selfie form. 2. A better ball head mechanism to allow fixing the phone vertically.

      Defective parts

Had the same problem as an earlier reviewer - ball on the threaded part way too big, impossible to assemble.

      Bought Despite Mixed Reviews

I was hesitant to purchase this stand biased on the reviews but found it to be versatile enough at an Apple workshop that I bought it anyways. My issues started I was hesitant to purchase this stand biased on the reviews but found it to be versatile enough at an Apple workshop that I bought it anyways. My issues started when I had trouble to getting the instructions out the box-within-the-the-box. However, I was able to assemble it easily without directions. I'm not sure what problems the other people who reviewed this had but they seem to have been corrected. I left off a star because of the difficultly in sync'ing the Bluetooth remote shutter to my iPhone. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. A flashing light lets you know if have a connection. I have not tried taking the remote and iPhone into Apple for support so this could be a problem on my end. It collapses into a lightweight package that I found easy and quick to "unfold." I thought it was a decent value for the money and would buy again or give as a gift.

B) The bottom tripod isn't heavy enough to stand on its own. You could buy an ankle weight to wrap around it for it to stand but I wouldn't want to haul around all that. C) Works great as a selfie stick, love the convenience of the remote but you can get a selfie stick for a lot less elsewhere.
