      Does not connect with HomeKit

      Honeywell cannot even get it to connect via their own app never mind HomeKit. Run from this product!

      Here's the good: I bought 3 of these for my house. The hardware installation was simple. The software setup was quite intuitive, since the Lyric app is well- Here's the good: I bought 3 of these for my house. The hardware installation was simple. The software setup was quite intuitive, since the Lyric app is well-suited for installation. In the final part of the setup process, the Lyric app automatically added the thermostats to my HomeKit. Here's the not-so-good: As stand-alone thermostats, the T5 is what you would expect from a standard programmable unit, albeit with a really nice touch display interface. Unfortunately, programming via the app conjures up memories of trying to program the clock on my VCR in 1992 (flashing 12:00, anyone?). The interface is abysmal, and you're not really sure if you have accomplished what you wanted to do. For example, you can manually program a schedule into the thermostat, but you have no way to see the program from the lyric app. And if you want to use the Geofence option to adjust to "away" mode when you leave your house, there is no way (either on the phone or on the unit itself!) to setup any "away" temperature settings. Isn't this the point of geofence? Homekit: Seems to work perfectly, assuming you have a current AppleTV or extra iPad lying around the house to act as the brains. Apple has done a really nice job with this. Summary: The hardware is good, but the cr@ppy Lyric app severely cripple the functionality of the device. I would give 5 stars if the app allowed better control & functionality of the device. 2 stars.

      Couldn't get the product to work, nor support to troubleshoot

      I bought two of these. I couldn't get either to work in two different zones in my house. Instructions were simple and to the point, but the devices wouldn't eve I bought two of these. I couldn't get either to work in two different zones in my house. Instructions were simple and to the point, but the devices wouldn't even turn on. I called Tech Support and the IVR told me that there were elongated wait times so for me to "try calling later." Then it hung up on me. So I tweeted about how ridiculous that was and Honeywell quickly responded asking for details, pictures, etc, which means I had to rewire them back up, including turning my furnace off per their instructions. An hour later my family told me it was getting cold in the house as I was sitting there waiting for tech support to get back to me. So I boxed them back up and returned them. Hours of wasted time.

      Awful...

      The T5 was relatively easy to set up, but there were some network issues with it communicating to the servers @ Honeywell and it would always be offline. Severa The T5 was relatively easy to set up, but there were some network issues with it communicating to the servers @ Honeywell and it would always be offline. Several calls to their technical support and basically they said I needed to contact my internet provider. I've had a Nest and most recently the ecobee3 and never had an issue with either connecting to their respective servers. My solution, return both T5's and buy 2 new ecobee3's. Those are both up and running in my house and no server issues at all. Honeywell's last of customer support have incredibly surprising and now they've lost a customer.

      Professional install, easy app setup, couldn't be happier

      We had two of these installed along with new AC systems for our house. The techs hadn't installed a lyric before but had no trouble with them. They did need to run a common wire, but this wasn't a set back. There's no way I could have installed these myself without pulling my hair out. However, for the guys that work with these all day...it was a breeze. They were amazed at how quickly I got everything going with the Lyric app on my phone. Once they left I quickly had it setup with HomeKit and was able to share the controls with my wife. I think these look great compared to the standard white/beige units I'm used to seeing in homes. The verdict is still out on long term performance, but I'll circle back once I've had a few months to test these out.

      It's great

      easy install. Works great. apple home kit or the native app. It's hard to overstate how delightful it is to tell siri to turn the heat down.
