The small leather strip around the sides of the phone is not always glued perfectly, I got picky at the Apple Store. Sadly, it is too bulky on a 7+ to keep in your pocket and sit down. The worse is that you cannot access the volume buttons when closed or in your pocket, I actually cut out a part of the spine on mine.

Card holder ripped within a month and a half

I'll be asking for a replacement as the card holder section ripped out after a month and a half of easy use.

      An Over-Priced Waste Of Time

I rarely take time to write reviews but I just can't bear the thought of another customer having to waste $70+ on this product. I bought this case when the iPhone 8 came out and it broke within the first few days. The seam on the sleeve that holds the credit cards popped open and unraveled. I wrote the folks at 12 South and requested a replacement case. After going through the frustrating exchange process, I received a replacement case. The replacement wasn't any better... Within weeks, the cheap, "leather" band that goes around the perimeter of the phone "shell" broke. It broke next to the power button which also revealed the shoddy craftsmanship below. In an attempt to avoid yet another frustrating exchange process, I attempted to re-attach the band but whenever I do, it just breaks in a different location. And then, a few months later, the seam on the sleeve that holds the credit cards popped open and unraveled - just like the first one I bought. I made the mistake of assuming that the price was a mark of quality. I'm now going to try the Dreem or the Lupa wallet cases instead. Though the reviews on those cases seem to express similar problems, at least the price isn't deceptive.

I will say it gets bulky fast though so having a strap that would keep it closed would have been nice. Overall I am satisfied enough as no one else really offers something of similar quality with the clasp.

TS included minimal information with the case, but one of the things they point out on their "owner's guide" is that the leather should break in over time and then, presumably, it'll stay closed more easily. They suggest setting the phone down with the camera facing up to help facilitate the break in process if the weight of any cards and cash in the wallet portion isn't enough to keep it closed. In the case of a fall, I'd guess it'll be hit or miss whether the screen gets the protection of the cover, though it's worth noting that the composite portion of the case does extend slightly past the face of the phone so, regardless of whether the cover stays closed, it should serve decently for shock protection. As I was writing this I got curious and dropped it a few times from a couple feet up to see what would happen, and for what it's worth the cover actually seemed to naturally pull itself back to a closed position in the vast majority of my "tests."
