      Wish It Performed

      I really wanted to like this sensor. But it doesn't turn lights on fast enough. Not clear if this is a motion sensing issue (sensitivity is turned to high) or I really wanted to like this sensor. But it doesn't turn lights on fast enough. Not clear if this is a motion sensing issue (sensitivity is turned to high) or a network/communications lag issue. There is so much delay that you can walk past it, and be out of its range before the light will trigger on. To be clear, it does what it says it will do, it's just hampered by this annoying delay. Also, If I had to nit pick, it doesn't have an ambient light sensor, and it's also physcially bigger then it needs to be (did Elgato look at Philips motion sensor size? But that one is not HomeKit compatible). On a positive note, the app is quite powerful and capable of handling many situations to control HomeKit devices and scenes. But it is complicated to setup, and requires a steep learning curve. Sadly, it needs to go back, can't live with the delay.

      Bought this device before it was offered on Apple.com in order to finish my entire home kit setup, attempted to use this to trigger my hue lights in the Kitchen Bought this device before it was offered on Apple.com in order to finish my entire home kit setup, attempted to use this to trigger my hue lights in the Kitchen. Since the Kitchen lights are usually synced with the living room, I decided to attempt to use this so they could turn on independently after sunset, without being on when living room lights are on. This worked 50% of the time, and the lights would sometime shut off while we were still in the Kitchen cooking. My Apple TV 4 isn't too far from where this sensor is places, but I used an app on my phone to test Eve Motion BT4.0 signal strength and it is very low around the area where my Apple TV is located. Switched to Hue Motion sensor for this task, and it does very well what this could not do.

      Currently using this as a replacement for my security alarm motion sensor. Works better than previous sensor but probably works a little too well.       I'm not great at this home automation stuff

      I bought the motion sensor along with a few other Elgato products but I haven't set it up to trigger anything like a light yet. Not sure where I can do so in my I bought the motion sensor along with a few other Elgato products but I haven't set it up to trigger anything like a light yet. Not sure where I can do so in my house. I have an Energy outlet that I could set up, but I'm tnot sure where it would be most practical, yet. It does keep track of motion trip events, so I know it will work a little, but I've seen other reviews that it's a little laggy. I need to learn more about home automation.

      Answer

      Yes, you can trigger Hue lights or other Home Kit accessories to function or react. Once the Eve Mo Yes, you can trigger Hue lights or other Home Kit accessories to function or react. Once the Eve Motion is setup on your network, you can then setup automations in the Eve app, or in the Home app under Automation. You do need an Apple TV 4th gen or a stationary (basically dedicated) iPad for automation to work.
