The USB they provide has two ends that connect to the new iPhones (USB-C)! My Mac has no USB-C outlet at all. I would have to be a completely different USB to make it work which is stupid. I had to buy something from Apple.com because of a gift card, but I would never buy anything else from Apple directly if I had the option not to.
