      Great Wireless Extender

Had Airport Extreme Base Station with 2 airport expresses set up to extend wireless networks to corners of house with weak signals. Not really totally happy Had Airport Extreme Base Station with 2 airport expresses set up to extend wireless networks to corners of house with weak signals. Not really totally happy with old airport express's performance so I thought I would try new new Airport Express. All I can say is wow. Positioned new express between area where the old two expresses were. Now my speed in either of the corners of the house where the old airport express's were has nearly doubled. Best $100 I have spent for awhile. Because of form factor, also looks cool sitting on table. This new express basically replaced the two older airports and increases download speed. Whats not to like? Highly recommend if planning on using it to extend wireless network.

We have been through so many routers that I was about to give up all together. I finally decided to give this tiny little item with the big price tag (in my world)a try. It was simple to set up and most importantly powerful. Our biggest issue was the amount of items would cause some items to drop off or a lot of time no one was able to connect at all. We would reset our router at least 4 times a day on average. With 2 iPads, 3 kindles, 4 cell phones, 2 computers, apple tv, and 3 game systems it never seemed to work out for us. Now with this little miracle worker everyone is connected all the time with no issues. We have had it set up for a week and I haven't reset it once. I am so happy that I could just dance.

This Express knocks the previous version from the curb to the next city!! Way to go Apple!!! If you need a wireless device to extend your current network, this This Express knocks the previous version from the curb to the next city!! Way to go Apple!!! If you need a wireless device to extend your current network, this thing is hands-down the best device on the planet right now!!! Setup took 30 seconds, maybe a minute!!! Works flawlessly with all 10 devices we are connecting to the Wi-Fi... even our flatscreen TV can now see & play the shared iTunes file on our network drive!!!

      Poor connection issues

I'm using this router as the Pace r I have used all generations of the airport express and they have been reliable. This one, however, is a different story. I'm using this router as the Pace routers that AT&T provide are terrible, specifically the 5268AC. Bridging this unit with other routers is fine. The issue is that the signal keeps dropping. This is not a distance issue where the router is too far ( the router is 10 ft away.) There is either a hardware or firmware issue (7.6.8) that is causing it to state that the airport express was "previously part of your network" and can no longer be found. I know it's not the Pace router since I am still able to access it via ethernet. Apple, you need to fix this issue because your router is basically garbage if it intermittently drops the network. It's not that hard to put a firmware patch. For now, I would stay away from this airport express, get the previous generation, or penny up for the Airport Extreme.

Excellent Solution to Extend our Wireless Network

But in my home we had a dead spot in our bedroom that was located behind a brick wall, full of pipes, wiring and everything else. This "strong" router couldn't penetrate this. I already had the Airport Express set up before as a base station router (I got the other router thinking it would solve my dead spot problem based on its strength). I bought a second Airport Express, set it up instantly in our bedroom with my phone's airport utility app - and boom! Dead spot gone and we have great signal throughout the house. Works really well. Looks great and eliminates clutter. Very pleased with this purchase.
