  • File Sharing. Between Mac, iPad and PC.

Now anyone in your group can share folders, exchange files and access documents on a Mac, iPad or PC. Because OS X Server supports both UNIX permissions and access control lists (ACLs), you have more control over who shares what. With file-sharing connection monitoring, you can see who’s accessing your server, who’s connected and for how long. And intelligent Spotlight searching helps users find content on the server quickly and easily.

    The more users, the merrier.

Mac mini with OS X Server lets you add an unlimited number of Mac and PC users without per-user licensing fees. So you can grow your business without growing your budget. And you get amazing hardware and software, with support for iOS devices like iPad and iPhone, straight out of the box. All for less than the cost of most server software alone.

OS X Server. The server for everyone.

Thanks to OS X Server, it’s never been easier to install, set up and manage a server. The advanced features in OS X Server turn Mac mini into a powerful server that’s perfect for home offices, businesses, schools and more.

Time Machine Backups. Protect like clockwork

OS X Server can act as a designated Time Machine backup location for all the Mac computers on your network. Centralising your backup storage helps protect valuable data and free up disk space on individual drives. And it eliminates the need for separate backup drives altogether. OS X Server also takes advantage of Time Machine to back up your server data — including shared files, calendars, mail, wikis and more — to another hard drive. And it lets you easily restore your server to an earlier configuration.

    Wiki Server. Share expertise.

OS X Server makes it easy for groups to collaborate and communicate through their own wiki-powered website. With simple yet powerful tools, users can create and edit wikis and individual pages, tag and cross-reference material, upload files and images, and create tables and add comments. The wiki is accessible from a browser, so anyone can access it anytime. Users can easily search for new pages and content, show recent activity and view attachments with Quick Look. Whenever a page has been updated or new comments have been added, everyone receives an automatic email notification. Wiki Server is optimised for iPad. And with WebDAV support, iPad users can now open and save attachments from the wiki in Pages, Numbers and Keynote.

    The world’s most energy-efficient desktop computer.2

What Mac mini doesn’t do could be its biggest feat. It doesn’t waste energy. Even though the new Mac mini can deliver a huge performance boost compared to the previous generation, it still uses less than 11 watts of power when idle. Small wonder, then, that it doesn’t just meet the ENERGY STAR requirements, it exceeds them — six times over. Mac mini is also made from highly recyclable aluminium, and with a built-in power supply, there’s no plastic housing. Even its package is designed to be mini, so it’s as efficient as possible to ship.

    Mac OS X

Includes the Mac App Store, Safari, Mail, Messages, Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, Notes, Time Machine, FaceTime, Photo Booth, Game Center, iTunes and more.

    iLife Suite

Apple's award-winning suite of digital lifestyle applications, including: iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand.
