If you go to sharing under system preferences and select share connection from Thunderbolt-> Ethernet adapter or something similar then share via WiFi.

No you can't do that. The adaptor is designed to be used the other way around as it doesn't convert No you can't do that. The adaptor is designed to be used the other way around as it doesn't convert the signal but instead passes it on the the PCI controller to do. There currently isn't any way that i know of to connect a thunderbolt accessory to a non thunderbolt mac.

Yes. It worked for me with a MacBook air (2011) and thunderbolt display.

To use this Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter simultaneously with a video adapter such as the To use this Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter simultaneously with a video adapter such as the MiniDisplayport to VGA Adapter, you would need either two built-in Thunderbolt ports, such as the new 15" MacBook Pro with Retina Display, or a Thunderbolt hub, or another external device that has more than two Thunderbolt ports that you could use as a hub.
