I will be running web meetings and if my laptop shifts or I bump the cable, the network disconnects, killing my meeting. It's really frustrating to have spent $2,000, then $30 for this connector and have unreliable Internet. I don't know if the flaw is with the adapter or laptop ports, or both. Just ridiculous to have this problem. I was better off with tech in the 1990s, then I plugged in network cable and it never failed.

      Stops working

I had it for a 2-3 years. I used it 30-40 times and stopped working. This is the second connector from Apple that behaves this way. I used to have one to get I had it for a 2-3 years. I used it 30-40 times and stopped working. This is the second connector from Apple that behaves this way. I used to have one to get an HDMI connection (before it became standard in the MacBookPro), which I used 10 times before it quit. No buying these expensive gadgets from Apple anymore.

This doesn't work in El Capitan when using high speed 1000BaseT gigabit eth

In a Macbook pro Retina Late 2013 with OSX 10.11.4, it doesn't support gigabit ethernet. It works fine with 100baseTX but it doesn't work with 1000BaseT.

I had bought this ethernet thunderbolt connector at apple online store due to lack of USB port for MACbook Pro on 2 January 2019. I got it on 10 January 2019. Today, 16 January 2019, it was spoiled. No respond when I use it to connect to internet. What a disappointed overpriced product? I'm really mad about this.

Great little adapter for a decent price

I would highly recommend this little dongle over the USB Ethernet adapter for MacBook Airs and older Pros and iMacs. It's the same price as the USB adapter at $ I would highly recommend this little dongle over the USB Ethernet adapter for MacBook Airs and older Pros and iMacs. It's the same price as the USB adapter at $29.00, but it supports Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps) speeds, which is way faster than the 10/100 Mbps max that the USB adapter has. I know a lot of people complain that the Thunderbolt to Gb Ethernet doesn't last long, but I can imagine that it was really designed with the iMac in mind.
