  • Overview

The 45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Air stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives you an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect traveling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible only with MacBook Air featuring MagSafe 2 power port.

      Poor Product

By far, the most badly designed accessory for any Macbook or Mac Air or Mac Pro is the AC adapter. No matter how careful you are, the adapter breaks and shorts out long before it should; it's the Achilles heel of Apple products. At this writing, my early 2014 Macbook Air is like new, but the AC adapter just shorted out. Please, Apple, there's no reason for this.

      Charger broke within 4 months

After transporting my charger in my backpack, I was surprised to have found the cord to be frayed. Looks like a lot of people are having quality issues as well.

      HORRIBLE

The cable has broken even with care. I have never seen such a bad quality of charger like this one! Truly disappointed by Apple.

      Mac Air Charger

Just horrible. It’s too delicate and stops working with the slightest band or fall. When the computer actually charges then it does stay powered up for a while. Just horrible. It’s too delicate and stops working with the slightest band or fall. When the computer actually charges then it does stay powered up for a while. I will have to look into a different laptop or brand all together if this isn’t fixed in the near future. I am purchasing another charger for the 3rd time. I don’t plan on doing it again.

APPLE FAIL!!! TERRIBLE FOR MOBILE USE.

BUT if you need to pack roll it up and pack it every day, expect to replace it every year due to cable breakage. It is just to flimsy to stand up to daily transportation. APPLE, stop being so cheap and beef this charger up! What is the purpose of having a portable computer if the components cannot withstand transportation. HP laptop and charger 7 years old and still going. MacBook 6 years old and I am on my 5th charger. SHAME ON YOU!
