  • Overview

With the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, it's easy to download photos and videos from your digital camera to your iPad or iPhone with Lightning support so you can view them on the gorgeous Retina display and share them with family and friends.

works perfectly once I changed camera communication setting

I was ready to send the adapter back, because I really need it for the EOS, my main camera- I am going to England this summer and am only taking my iPad Mini, not my laptop, so have to have some way to back up photos (losing photos due to a lost/damaged card, camera, etc would be beyond tragic) Then I read the review that suggested going to the camera's menu and changing the Communication setting from Normal to PTP. Tada!! Success - the pictures loaded right up, I am very happy, and the adapter does not have to go back to Apple.

I just connect it to my iPad mini, turn on the camera, and it automatically uploads the files. I believe if you are shooting in RAW, it uses the jpeg generated by the camera. Fantastic!

      iOS update broke this

The original Lightning to USB Camera Adapter worked fine with my camera for years until the iOS12 update. In fact, I bought the new Lightning to USB 3 Camera A The original Lightning to USB Camera Adapter worked fine with my camera for years until the iOS12 update. In fact, I bought the new Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter with the power plug and that doesn't work either so it isn't a power issue. Do not waste your $30 - $40 on either of these until Apple fixes the issue.
