It also outputs video content — movies, TV shows, captured video — to your big screen in up to 1080p HD. Simply attach the Lightning Digital AV Adapter to the Lightning connector on your device and then to your TV or projector via an HDMI cable (sold separately).

Not to simply mirror the TV output and sound from your device to the TV through HDMI. The second li Not to simply mirror the TV output and sound from your device to the TV through HDMI. The second lightening female adapter permits charging your device while using it. But the charging is optional. In other words it works the same as the Apple Lightening to HDMI Only adapter but with an added advantage of charging in case you are streaming for a long time.

I doesn't work for downloaded content on the Disney + app. It does stream from it though.

I’ve been able to watch Netflix and Apple TV+ content on an external tv. Doesn’t seem to support HDR I’ve been able to watch Netflix and Apple TV+ content on an external tv. Doesn’t seem to support HDR video content though.

I have had my adapter for several years, and I just watched Apple TV+ programming on my TV via HDMI I have had my adapter for several years, and I just watched Apple TV+ programming on my TV via HDMI ported out of my iPhone 11Pro using that adapter. It worked great and I was able to use my apple watch to remote control the phone, so I didn't need a long HDMI cable.
