I have never had an apple product with this terrible of quality. For $50 should definitely last longer especially not used much and always put up when not in use. Would not recommend wasting your money.

Poor Video Quality and No Audio Out of Headphone Jack

The result is the vid Instead of outputting native HDMI, this little device seems to take the output from the phone, compress it, and pass along an HDMI signal. The result is the video quality is far below good HD quality. Expect all kinds of artifacts and other issues including lower than expected HD resolution. This is not a device that can replace a good streaming alternative, which is too bad considering Apple's devices are more than powerful enough for that purpose. For those of us hoping to use our phones or iPads to connect in business settings to display content, be aware that audio is only transmitted through the lightening port when this is plugged in, which gives no audio out through the headphone jack. That means that if you are plugging this into a projector's HDMI input, you are likely going to lose any sound that goes along with your presentation (or anything else) as most quality projectors do not have speakers. This is a big oversight in my opinion as lots of devices keep the analog audio out of a headphone jack or the like live while also transmitting sound over HDMI. Similarly, sound is not also sent via bluetooth when this is plugged in, so that's not an alternative either. I have both the bluetooth and headphone jack options open on my laptop, which has an HDMI out. So much for replacing a good old laptop.

      Lightening Digital AV adapter

This was working fine, then along comes an upgrade and it can no longer stream. Apple, fix this problem of your making or reimburse everyone who has wasted the This was working fine, then along comes an upgrade and it can no longer stream. Apple, fix this problem of your making or reimburse everyone who has wasted their money on your device. Shameful behaviour, software should be tested in development before release, standard IT protocol, very unimpressive

These people are not happy when they have to pay for a service call to be told it’s a vendor firmware issue! Apple, get on this because it’s also affecting your Educational market, and you need all the market share you have !!! Currently these do not work with IOS12. At all. End of story.

Our family has multiple iPads (3), iPhones(5) and iMacs(2) and apple TV's (2). We purchased the adaptor to be able to watch shows at the cottage where there isn't any wifi connection. Purchased today get video and no audio, managed to get something scabbed together by using one phone to play video and one to play audio with external speakers from the 90's. What a mess! Apple you have had plenty of time to fix this based on all of the poor reviews. I paid ~$70.00 at Best Buy for this useless piece of overpriced non working cable at this point. We expect a fix... no demand a fix! On behalf of our family and everyone else here .... fix the problem!!!
