I have never had an apple product with this terrible of quality. For $50 should definitely last longer especially not used much and always put up when not in use. Would not recommend wasting your money.

Poor Video Quality and No Audio Out of Headphone Jack

The result is the vid Instead of outputting native HDMI, this little device seems to take the output from the phone, compress it, and pass along an HDMI signal. The result is the video quality is far below good HD quality. Expect all kinds of artifacts and other issues including lower than expected HD resolution. This is not a device that can replace a good streaming alternative, which is too bad considering Apple's devices are more than powerful enough for that purpose. For those of us hoping to use our phones or iPads to connect in business settings to display content, be aware that audio is only transmitted through the lightening port when this is plugged in, which gives no audio out through the headphone jack. That means that if you are plugging this into a projector's HDMI input, you are likely going to lose any sound that goes along with your presentation (or anything else) as most quality projectors do not have speakers. This is a big oversight in my opinion as lots of devices keep the analog audio out of a headphone jack or the like live while also transmitting sound over HDMI. Similarly, sound is not also sent via bluetooth when this is plugged in, so that's not an alternative either. I have both the bluetooth and headphone jack options open on my laptop, which has an HDMI out. So much for replacing a good old laptop.

      1 Year Later. Still Perfect

I purchased this adapter before screen mirroring was available without using wifi to watch movies through my unlimted data plan on the tv. I cant say that I hav I purchased this adapter before screen mirroring was available without using wifi to watch movies through my unlimted data plan on the tv. I cant say that I havent had an issue once or twice, but the product is still working. I would like others to know when using this adapter you must use specific HDMI cables that support encoded media or the device will not send the information to the TV. Try using a different brand of HDMI, not the one that came with your tv provider or a gas station. The movies and tv shows I stream through Netflix and iTunes do display in full 1080P (when my provider isnt degrading my connection) Overall this is a very handy product and have loved using it.

      Doesn’t work since iOS 11

As with other reviewers the adapter does not work since the update for Crave either. Very frustrating. Error message saying, screen recording not supported .

      Worked great until iOS 11.

I get audio only and no picture with Netflix downloads using the lightning digital av adapter since iOS upgrade. It used to work great! How about a fix soon?
