They plug your ears, not just sit inside them like other types of earbuds, and they certainly don't sit in top of your head like two small cans of cat food. They are elegant, minimal, and wonderful. No other headphones come close to blocking outside sound, letting your music gloriously play in your ear as it was meant to be enjoyed. Screaming baby in seat 34F? No problem, pop these in, and you'll enjoy several dB of noise reduction instantly. You don't even need to put on the music. Horns, taxis, sirens, or just noisy spouse asking why you're a bum? No problem, put these on, and you won't hear a thing. Because they block outside sound, they leave your ears with nothing but the joyous music you desire. It arrives clear and booming (if you're into bass) because its airtight in your ear canal the entire inner ear is used as a bass chamber. It's a shame because people don't fit them correctly. Apple generously gives you several sizes to fit. But no consumer product can have every size needed, so they might just not work for you. But if you do get them sized correctly, you will absolutely be amazed at the sound quality. I really hope Apple releases a Lightning cable version of these soon!

      Don't recommend them

The left side wou I have been a fan of any apple products but this one really disappointed me. I've had 2 pairs so far because the audio would do its own thing. The left side would go out and I wouldn't know what to do and then magically it started to work again. I will say that they feel amazing and the sound is great (sometimes) but if you put the ear bud in your ear to far the audio will sound a little weird so you have to be gentle with putting them in. Can't just pop them in and go. Sad that this was my first time buying a bad apple product :(

Tinny sound and an overall disappointment

Wow - I have to say that I am deeply disappointed with the quality of the sound from these headphones. I really expected something better given that I find the standard headphones to be ok. Tinny, lacking bass and clarity and in fact, just lacking on every critical dimension. And for 3x the price for the standard headphones (welcome to prices in Europe!) I wanted something superior. Instead, I got something inferior.

      Apple EarPods

I have been buying apple EarPods for years to use with my iPhone. Never used to have any problems with them, they used to last for about at least 2 years. But t I have been buying apple EarPods for years to use with my iPhone. Never used to have any problems with them, they used to last for about at least 2 years. But the last ones I bought didn't even last me 6 months, the mic side headphone stopped working. I called apple about it, but I was told that the 1 year warranty doesnt mean anything because I don't have apple warranty on my iPhone anymore. I think the quality on apple products has gone down. I don't think I am going to be spending that extra money for apple accessories when the quality is not there....

I have enjoyed immensely my iPhones, from the very first one to my current 6s. But with the change to lightning connectors and airbuds the handwriting is on the wall for the 3.5mm connector. But look! Apple has earphones, not just earbuds for the 3.5. If you want to pay over twice as much as earbuds then to be rewarded with worse sound for phone calls (it is an iPhone after all) than late 60's office intercoms (they were a thing, a horrible sounding thing). This is the product that will make it happen. As to music, don't even try. No bass. None. Listen to all of your music, or something, was the promise. But not with apple's earphones. Because they are dramatically worse than earbuds. Unusable. Unbelievably so. For a company that is so committed to music and music appreciation to produce an audio product this bad is mind boggling.

Within weeks one of the headphones had reduced output...this can be changed, but more importantly, the design is at fault as the weight of the product isn't carried by the in ear design meaning that the headphones keep falling out he ear...no matter which fitting is used. What a waste of money.
