  • Overview

Crafted from the same 316L stainless steel alloy as the case, the Link Bracelet has more than 100 components. The machining process is so precise, it takes nearly nine hours to cut the links for a single band. The custom butterfly closure folds neatly within the bracelet. And several links feature a simple release button, so you can add and remove links without any special tools. An additional diamond-like carbon (DLC) layer gives the space black stainless steel its distinctive finish.

      Finish failure

I really enjoyed the look, precision and finish. Most especially, the compliments! This was my daily wear watch as I am fully integrated with Apple products. Th I really enjoyed the look, precision and finish. Most especially, the compliments! This was my daily wear watch as I am fully integrated with Apple products. That said, I was extremely disappointed when I noticed silver peaking through the finish at the typical wear points within 3 months of purchase. After 6 months, full stainless visibility at the wear points resulted in great disappointment with the product, considering the investment.

Please do not waste your money on this absolutely beautiful band

Why the negative review? Simple! While the band is a work of art, the finish wears off very easily and once worn off you will not want to wear the band. When Why the negative review? Simple! While the band is a work of art, the finish wears off very easily and once worn off you will not want to wear the band. When I bought my Apple Watch, I specifically asked the salesperson if the finish was applied or was the metal black thru and thru? I was assured it was not a finish but rather the metal. I took his advice and walked out with the Series I watch. 90 days later the finish was beginning to wear around the buckle. 120 days in and the finish was gone. I took the watch back and complained as was told the finish was not guaranteed and it was abuse that caused the problem. Frankly I was very disappointed considering what I paid for the watch (new adopter). The manager of the Apple store felt somewhat guilty and gave me a new band as a courtesy. I put in on walked out and enjoyed the new one for exactly 120 days and the same thing happened again. Best plan would be to leave it in the box and only look at it. Great design but not high quality. Please do not waste your money on the amazingly beautiful band. You will be sorry!!

If kept clean and scratch free, this band is eye catching and elegant and will go with any outfit you are wearing. The stainless steel watch combined with this band is by far the nicest looking watch Apple has made thus far, though if you plan on wearing this while working out or doing lots of physical work I cannot recommend it. It scratches very easily and will wear out over time. I have been through 2 bands in 3 years, though they have each been used heavily and I believe I got my money's worth.

      Indestructible finish

I grind hard metals, among other things, and it gets knocked around, as does the watch. Neither has the slightest scratch, or abrasion. I can’t imagine what these guys must have been doing to wear this finish out. It fits well, and looks great. My favorite band.

      Nearly Impervious to Scratches

The most dangerous expo 8 months of wear, nearly 24/7 (recharge most nights...on a metal stand!) swimming, showers, hunting, laying cement, I never take it off. The most dangerous exposure it gets to potential scratches is when I'm typing on my Apple keyboards. But I can barely see but one minor scratch which I think came when it scraped with great force a corner of a particularly hard brick. I was amazed when I couldn't immediately see any scratch on the clasp. I don't think I could get any type of scratch to show up in a well-lighted picture taken with my X. The watch and band look new. You can get a PVD coated watch from Audemars Piguet but you'll have to wait 9 to 18 months as the waiting list is very long...also it costs about $90,000.00 The Apple Watch scratch resistance is excellent...much better than any of my 3 Rolexes and of course, much better than my stainless steel Blancpain and Patek Phillipe watches all of which needed to be refinished regularly.
