DVI inputs are not available in TVs. This adapter will work fine when you would like to project your DVI inputs are not available in TVs. This adapter will work fine when you would like to project your mac/any device which has built in HDMI port as video output to a display or projector that supports DVI input.

Is this compatible with MacBook Air?

This adapter isn’t compatible with any MacBook Air as none of them have ever shipped with a built in This adapter isn’t compatible with any MacBook Air as none of them have ever shipped with a built in HDMI port.
Unless you have the original 2008 MacBook Air or the most recent models with USB C, you’ll need to get a Mini Display Port to DVI adapter.
