      Underwhelming

I really want to love USB-C -- it's such a versatile connector, truly a technical marvel -- but it's shameful that this cable only supports USB 2.0 data speeds I really want to love USB-C -- it's such a versatile connector, truly a technical marvel -- but it's shameful that this cable only supports USB 2.0 data speeds and that it's not included with the purchase of a USB-C charger.

      Solid Cable

This cable is solid. They redid the jacket of the cable so I suspect we will see a lot less pealing and fraying like old mag safe. The cable supports USB device This cable is solid. They redid the jacket of the cable so I suspect we will see a lot less pealing and fraying like old mag safe. The cable supports USB device and 100 Watt USB-C PD. This is huge for a 20 dollar cable. This cable is one of the few things apple priced lower than the value it delivers. The cable is also already the max length supported by USB-C PD.

Could not connect two modern MBPs in Target Disk Mode with this cable

Apple's "It just works" mentality died a long time ago. This cable is a piece of junk.

While it technically does transfer data, it does so at a top speed of only about 30 MB/sec. It actually makes my external SSD slower than a spinning disk. The external SSD should be about 500 MB/sec (and is that speed with a different cable)!

      Cable Has BAD ODOR

I recently purchased MacBook Pro. Upon opening the box I smelled a foul odor. Isolated this to the USB-C cable. I thought maybe after using for a week or two I recently purchased MacBook Pro. Upon opening the box I smelled a foul odor. Isolated this to the USB-C cable. I thought maybe after using for a week or two, cleaning it and airing it out, the smell would go away. After researching this on the internet, I was surprised to find many have had this issue. I could not find anything from Apple as to what they are doing about it. I did call Apple support and they are sending me a replacement. The two support reps I spoke to were completely unaware of this problem.
