      Powerful, crisp and clear sound

Also, that Bluetooth blue light that blinks is obnoxiously bright in a dark room. I'm very particular about the sound quality of my music and HD movies. For example, I've always had Bose speakers and auxiliary Monster cables in my car and in my home. Ok, with that being said, I thought I'd spend the money and try these out. The nostalgia of huge on-ear headphones, that come in rose gold to match my Apple Watch and 7+, made them appealing before I even tested the actual quality. Then there was the perk that it had the W1 chip and a 40-hour battery life. I already hate that I have to charge my watch every day... my phone can go 3 days if I need it to and I'd like headphones that could do the same. I'll admit it: I'm lazy. They don't drain the battery on my phone the way my other Bluetooth earbuds and my car's Bluetooth do. Furthermore, you can register the Beats for free with Apple (keep your receipt filed at home, just in case). They're crisp, clear, and LOUD. I can appreciate different background sounds and instrumentals in my music that gives it this dynamic theater-quality listening experience. I'm still mastering the side controls; these aren't as straightforward as my LG Bluetooth buds. I did need these headphones to be able to control music and calls, so I'm going to have to figure that out a little more. Volume and pause/play are the only controls I've managed to master lol. It's just a user error. I've also noticed that when making calls, with the Beats connected via Bluetooth, my phone defaults it to speaker from the phone itself... I have to manually redirect AirPlay to my Beats. They appear right there at the top of the list, so I'm not sure what's going on with that. Perhaps an update for the phone or software is necessary. Also, they don't disconnect when signal is weak or cut in and out (which is due to the W1 chip in both the Beats and the fact that they're paired to another device with a W1 chip). Hope this helps you in making your decision if the Beats Solo3 are right for you.

      Great headphones

Pros: Excellent battery life Stylish looking Loud to the point where I could never listen at full volume (and I work around heavy equipment and aircraft) S Pros: Excellent battery life Stylish looking Loud to the point where I could never listen at full volume (and I work around heavy equipment and aircraft) Stay on your head tightly during workouts and running Ridiculously fast and easy pairing Not flimsy feeling at all Cons: Too big for the gym for my liking, I'll probably wait for powerbeats3 They're pretty pricey even for the quality you're getting

I'm hearing parts of songs I've never heard before. I wear them to listen to music rather than watch tv. Yes I'm wearing them now. Sign up for 3 months of Apple Music for free. Great platform so far but I'm not sure about how it compares to Spotify. You won't be disappointed with the Beats. I go around putting them on heads of my friends and family. Now I'm understanding why Apple bought them.

A Unique Torture Device - Like a Vice Grip on your ear, a heated vice grip.

The headphones actually heat up several degrees after use. I challenge Apple to do an actual test of how much they heat up. They most definitely heat up. Between that vice grip sensation on your ears and that heat, the only positive thing this has going for it is that its wireless and thats about it. I have to agree with others that the sound quality is alright, nothing amazing, and the volume is also rather low. If you were to Max out the volume it would barely sound maxed out. The sound insulation on these things also is not very good. Turning it up a little at the library can be heard by other patrons. So I'm wondering here : (A) The sound is not that good, (B) They hurt your ear, (C) They actually heat up after a while - well no wonder Apple is giving them away. Would I buy these things for 1/3rd of the price they are valued at ? No. I would not. Its a torture device.

I prefer my Bose, which cost the same, but cover my ears entirely. Maybe someone with smaller ears will like these (such as a child, although, I really don't think I have large ears for an adult female, age 51!!) I rated these a two because I love that they are wireless.
