      Mixed

      I've wanted a bluetooth Mac keyboard for years, but couldn't let go of the numeric keypad on my standard USB keyboard, so I was thrilled when this was released. I've wanted a bluetooth Mac keyboard for years, but couldn't let go of the numeric keypad on my standard USB keyboard, so I was thrilled when this was released. Just one day in and a few thoughts. The keys function well, but there are issues. The first is that the angle at which it sits on a desk is not ergonomically appropriate. The standard keyboard has a separate "bar" at the back that raises it up and allows it to sit on the desk at an angle; the Magic Keyboard sits almost flat, and I can almost feel the carpal tunnel forming in my wrists as I type this review. The second issue is minor, but significant. If you're like me, you slide the keyboard around to slightly different positions during the day — to take a call, swivel in your seat, etc. The base of this keyboard is very "sticky", and really doesn't slide. Obviously making it not sticky enough would be a problem while typing, but the old keyboard struck a good balance that this one lacks. Will I keep my new Magic Keyboard? Not sure yet.

      Better Than Nothing

      I always felt the tiny keyboard that came with the iMac was next to useless and would have replaced it with a Surface Keyboard, but it didn't play well with the I always felt the tiny keyboard that came with the iMac was next to useless and would have replaced it with a Surface Keyboard, but it didn't play well with the iMac. I also was not about to purchase a USB full sized keyboard from Apple when Bluetooth was available from every other manufacturer. So when Apple FINALLY came out with a full sized BT keyboard, albeit about 7 years late, I thought I would take the plunge. The overall character of the keyboard is excellent and quite superior to the original toy keyboard. The keys have enhanced soft 'click' to them that the original did not. I would describe it as more crisp than the original. I am finding I am already typing faster and with more accuracy. Now for the bad. Apple, in their continued obsolescence strategy has made the keyboard smaller than the original trackpad and mouse. So you have the option of buying new peripherals or living with it. I have no intention on using a mouse that: 1-has no right click key and 2-has the charging port on the bottom. I already replaced that with a white MX Master. The new trackpad may be worth getting when I have some money to waste. The biggest con for this keyboard is that there is no way to angle it up, so you are typing on essentially a flat surface. Thanks a lot, Tim! Ever hear of ergonomics? In summary, it is better than the original by quite a bit, but falls short on knocking it out of the park.

      Why did it take you so long?

      I've been waiting for Apple to release a full size keyboard for what feels like forever now. Bought immediately after release and received today.       I almost didn't buy this keyboard because I read several reviews where people complained about the angle of the keyboard being more flat than the previous Apple I almost didn't buy this keyboard because I read several reviews where people complained about the angle of the keyboard being more flat than the previous Apple keyboards. One guy even complained about carpel tunnel. Then I lifted my arms off the desk and low and behold my hands actually preferred to hang downward and that was a very comfortable position. So I decided to buy the keyboard. The fact that it is more flat is actually an ergonomic improvement. Think about all of the palm rests people used to have with their desktop computers. Those elevated your wrists so your hands could hang in a more natural position. My only complaint is that it might be even better if it was completely flat. The keys are very responsive with less travel than the previous keyboard which is an improvement. If you are wondering if you should buy one, then you should buy one.

      Flimsy

Loved the wired full-size keyboard, but that's no longer available and this just isn't solid.
