Absolutely not - and Apple's majorly disappointed me in not stating that on the product's page. Tried it - it doesn't work. Only the new 2016 products support it.

No, I attempted this with my Late 2015 27" iMac using the adapter mentioned by the other answerers and it won't work. I was able to use it just fine with my Touchbar Macbook so the monitor is ok.

Buying the Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter and a Thunderbolt cable does not work yet. The LG monitor will not turn on.

No. I bought this display and Thunderbolt 2 adapter, but it will not work with a Thunderbolt signal from earlier gen iMacs and MacBooks, which is absolutely ridiculous!

Apple says "iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) and later iMac models can't be used as Target Display Mode displays."
