    Matte surfaces work best as there is higher contrast for the sensor. If your desk is glossy and especially if it is glass you may need a mouse pad.

  • You can use it on a mouse pad or not, I find that on a mouse pad the traction of the mouse is much slower and unnatural, so I prefer it without a mouse pad

  • Any surface so far for me. I've even had it working on the Mac itself. So far I've had it working on polished surfaces, wood, metal(the Mac), white paper, brown paper, back of my hand (don't ask).
