i just bought a new 27 inch imac and bought new mini displayport to dvi adaptor i am not able to plug into connector on back of screen why
event if i put the D shape in the proper way it won't fit

found the connector was offset from the aluminium case , i use a little screw-driver and re-aling the socket with the d shape openning and evrey thing worked fine

it fits REALLY tight! Make sure it is oriented correctly and that it is the RIGHT adapter (MINI DisplayPort). Just a little effort should allow it to be inserted.
