Why isn't there a Thunderbolt port on the new Time Capsule?

It would seem the fastest way to transfer data from a Time Machine backup to a Mac would be with a Thunderbolt cable. It seems counter intuitive to move large amounts of data from a 3TB back by USB 2 when Thunderbolt technology is clearly superior

The USB will not transfer data from the internal hard drive. but the fastest way would be to get a thunderbolt to gigabit ethernet adapter and connect it into one of the 3 LAN ethernet ports to move information from the Time Capsule to the Computer or visa versa
