  • When speaking of Noise Cancellation, there are basically two types; Passive Noise Cancellation (PNC) or Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). 1). Passive Noise Cancellation (PNC) is sound reduction through the use of noise-isolating materials such as insulation, sound-absorbing tiles, or in the case of earbuds; rubber tips in the ear canal muffle sound. Passive Noise Cancellation DOES NOT use a power source and is 2). Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is sound reduction using a power source. Active Noise Cancellation, also known as ‘noise cancellation’ is a method for reducing unwanted sound by the addition of a second sound specifically designed to cancel the first. I’m assuming you actually want to know; do these have Active Noise Cancellation? The answer is no. They have the same Passive Noise Cancellation as your Powerbeats 3. In the future, if you stipulate whether you’re referring to Active or Passive Noise Cancellation, you’ll be more easily understood.
