Can I see photos/video stored in my iMac on TV with use of Apple TV?

I got a lot of photos / video clips stored in my iMac which is placed at study room. I always want to show them on my HD TV at living room. Can my iMac send signal to Apple TV and so show photos/video clips on my HDTV?

I've bought honestech nScreen which can help me to do this like a router. However, signal is very unstable, esp on HD movie. Hope that Apple TV can help.

I am currently using Aperture to store my photos and iMovie to store the movies.

Yes, Apple TV can display your photos and home videos.

For photos, in iTunes, choose File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing (and use your Apple ID). Then choose File > Home Sharing > Choose Photos to Share with Apple TV. You can choose to share specific albums from your iPhoto or Aperture library, or the entire library.

For home videos, drag the ones you want to see on Apple TV from the iMovie project folder to the iTunes movies window.
