As of Boot Camp 4.0, Windows XP is no longer supported. All new Mac's ship with Mountain Lion and therefore have the latest version of Boot Camp installed.
You can still use third party software such as "Parallels Desktop" to create a virtual machine within OSX and then install Windows XP there, but if you wan't to install Windows through Boot Camp you will need to purchase Windows 7.
