  • I have the same QUESTION! How do I upgrade without losing everything I have on my system? Also, do I have to purchase more hardware(memory)?
Who would you recommend to do this or hire to do it? Apple Support or off the street geek? Off the street scares me but how can you upgrade on line at the same time?
I do not want to lose everything? Also, I'd like to upgrade all the way to Maverick with room to go to Yosemite (?) or whatever the name of the newer level of software that is coming in the fall. But I'd like to not be off line for months to get operational. Are there tutorials on how to go from 10.5.8 to the newest available or possible for this machine.
Please advise is welcome I am about to have major surgery and would love to have my computer available for the very long recovery.
