I wish to buy a mac book pro.I decided to take 4GB ram initially.In the future if I want to upgrade it to 8GB can I do that??

This depends on what kind of MacBook Pro you have. If you have a MacBook Pro with Retina Display, the RAM is soldered to the logic board which unfortunately means it is not user-upgradable. If your model does not have a Retina Display, the RAM chips can easily be popped off and upgraded (specific instructions can be found online).
