Will a 6gig ram will make my 4gig ram faster?? if so.. can i buy this upgrade directly to apple?

I have a 4gig ram macbook pro and i want it to be faster my mac is a 2012 non retina

    A RAM upgrade will speed up your Macbook Pro a bit. The next step up from 4Gb is 8Gb, not 6Gb, and the extra RAM reduces disk paging and you should see rather less of the spinning beach ball.

    But in my experience you'll get a much greater performance increase by replacing your hard disk with a solid state drive. A lot of programs are more I/O heavy than processor intensive and the faster read/writes to a SSD will dramatically speed up your system.
