I have a new car that provides a USB connector cable. When trying my I Phone USB charging cables I get an error message - Is there a different cable?

I Phone works fine with Blue Tooth - but get an error message when plugging in USB cable to the I phone for the music. Any suggestions? (reads that an apple product is connected.) Does this work with an I phone? Thanks.

Where can I get a longer Apple 30-pin to USB Cable?

The official Apple 30-pin to USB Cable is waaaay too short. Longer unofficial ones are available, but are of questionable quality. Do Apple produce a 30-pin to USB cable that is 2 or 3 meters long, and if not, are there any manufacturers who produce quality ones?

is there a usb to ipod connector that doesn't have a cable?

The standard cable is too long when used in my wife's car (it gets tangled with her purse that sits on the floor of the car). The perfect solution would be a USB to iPod connector that doesn't have a cable between the two ends.

When referring to wattage, is it in the cable or the charger? Or both?

ie, if I want to charge my iPad faster, I assume a 12 watt charger will be faster than a 5, but if I use a different cable (I need a long cable), will it slow it down? Does the cable itself contain a wattage, or only the charger plug itself? Thanks.

ipad ipod USB cable

Is the USB cable that comes with the iPad2 identical to the USB cable for the iPod touch (i.e. 3rd gen)? -- To be clear, I am not talking about the chargers which I realize are different for iPad vs iPod.
