i dont have a smart phone but would like use my computer or laptop instead to set the temperature

No it is not dishwasher safe. It is recommended that you hand wash it. Here is an excerpt from the directions that came with mine:
Hand wash your mug with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. After washing, dry your mug off completely before placing on the charger.
*Hand wash only. Do not use the dishwasher to clean your Ceramic Mug.
