    Distraught at poor quality

I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in the quality of the BookBooks now. After just two days I notice that the stitching is coming apart each side of the inner card slot (with the plastic window) - shocking as I haven't put anything in it yet (yes its a genuine one) . My old BookBook cover from my 4S is still solid but wish I now had never upgraded to a bit bigger iphone as this cover has to go back and I will not be buying another until the quality issue is addressed. There must be something wrong if other users are reporting the same problem,
I only got an iphone in the first place as I loved the BookBook covers so much.

    Beautiful and functional piece

A truly great product not only solves a problem, but offers its solution in an aesthetically pleasant, and physically or psychologically comforting way. I was actually looking for and even planning in the back of my mind how to design for myself an iPhone case that functioned as a wallet but looks like a leather-bound book before I found out about Twelve South's BookBook line up. I couldn't be more pleased with it. I'm always looking for simplifying my life but with style and Twelve South seems to always impress me in that regard. Cheers.

    Overall, I like it but...

I like this version of the Book Book case with the edition of the sleeves for cards but the main drawback is that the plastic on the outermost sleeve leaves a residue on the iPhone glass face with which it comes into contact. I really have to rub hard to get rid of the outline of the plastic but I am still left with a large residual smudge on the glass that I could not remove. I don't think I would buy this version again unless they replace that with something softer and less likely to adhere to the phone face. A gross oversight on an otherwise solid product.

Bought the BookBook about a year ago, cost me over $100.00 as I live in Canada. I was a little shocked at the cost but thought it'd be a quality product. Was I mistaken, Canadian money doesn't fit in it, so you have to fold it which makes impractical to carry money in. The spine discoloured and looks terrible. The credit card slots on the interior have all stretched so you can't put cards in them as will just slip out. Lost my drivers licence and health card today. So today is the garbage day for my BookBook just where it belongs. Worst $100 I've spent.

    Book Book for 6+

I have been using Book Books for years, and have always loved them. I just moved up to iphone6+, and I like the Book Book again, but there is one feature I absolutely loathe about the 6+ case. I can not stand the removable part of the case. My phone is always sliding out of the little grommets that should hold it securely in. I am seriously thinking about removing my phone and attempting to glue the removable case onto the little pegs that should be holding it on. Has anyone else found this sliding feature to be a nuisance? All in all, its a nice case, and I still would recommend it.

    Beauty and function

Love this new case for my iPhone 6plus. I had something similar for my iPhone 4S but this is much nicer. The phone is secure to the leather cover but is easy to remove when needed. Some sort of method of holding it closed would be nice. Due to my previous experience with wallets, I placed an elastic ribbon around the wallet side of the case (vertically) and sewed it in place at the bottom. It looks like a ribbon bookmark but holds my cards in place. I just slip the elastic off the top of wallet side to remove whichever card I need. I also like the that the card slots actually fit my driver's license.

All in all I'm very please with this purchase and am sure that it will outlast my iPhone!

    great customere service and product

All I can say is WOW. I dropped my Iphone 6 plus and it was in the brown book book. It landed on the corner. No damage to the my new (1 month) phone. but the inner plastic case of the book book broke off. great! Now I need to buy a new case. Hopefully they will sell me the inner plastic case; these were my thoughts. NO they did not sell me the inner case, but they did send me a new one for FREE in the mail within 3 days. WOW. Not only is the feature a great feature but make the case repairable. their customer service is fantastic. This is my second one. the first was a for a Iphone 5.
I find the case perfect: will it ever replace my wallet, no. But for those times when I do not want to carry, or cant, my wallet, it is perfect. like biking or going to the gym. I can carry my dl, cash, membership card and all the music I will need in one easy place. IMHO it is the best looking case.

    Great concept but poor utility.

I have had my case for two year and durability is excellent. I love the idea of it but find its utility wanting. You need to be a true minimalist to get by with drivers licence and two card slot and a $20, Lets not forget the swipe cards, health card, Auto Insurance, ownership and registration. Maybe someday these will be on your phone. In the meantime: overloaded wallet. It's awkward to text and talk with one hand. Case gets in the way. I try it for a while then switch back to seperateminimalist wallet and minimalist iPhone case.

    Best, Don

    Looks great but...

First off this is a beautiful case and people will notice it (if you're into that sort of thing). I've gotten many compliments. Its got mega cool factor. Many people actually mistook it for a Bible ; ) The leather wears very nicely in that it looks like a very well-read book over time. This adds to the visual intrigue. I was a bit surprised how quickly the book became worn though. What you see at the 12 South website will last for approximately 3 months before the case becomes fully worn in. I like the worn look and the case has miraculously held together for the 12 months I've had it. No tears and the stitching is solid.

Caveats... The slots for credit cards become stretched over time & no longer hold credit cards securely. The canvas or cowhide that holds the CC's stretches with the more cards you add. I've stuffed mine plenty. On a occasion I have picked up the case upside down and had more than a few CC's go flying onto the floor. This is the biggest issue for me because I have to be conscious about how I handle the case. A few users have mentioned that a clip to keep the case closed would be helpful. I'm not certain of this. Coming from a guys perspective this would make it appear more like a "man-purse" which I'm not into. Also, I've had cards fall out of the case when the fold was closed and in my hand.

Despite the shortcomings I still love it. Ultimately its not a perfect case, but darn this thing looks and feels good.

Loved loved the idea of a book book for my iPhone 5s, after
Purchasing (which 60 bucks for a phone case is absurd) the left portion of
The case which holds the credit cards actually made an impression on the glass
Of the phone causing a permanent scratch. Twelve South also replaced the case for
Me after the right plastic piece holding the phone cracked and now since its 1.5 years
Old the stitching fell away exposing the cardboard which keeps the leather stiff.
It's too bad it fell apart as I have book book for my Mac and have not one complaint.
    I give it 2 stars

attractive and nice, but doesn't close

This is a very attractive case, which is why I bought it. The leather feels very nice in my hand.

The major issue with this case is that it doesn't close--there's no closure or clasp on it at all. Which means that the display always shows, and, it just has a not-closed look to it, all the time--not something you want to hold your money and credit cards in, along with your iPhone. I used two hair bands to hold it closed--one along the spine, one attached to that to loop around it, and that helps, but I don't understand why they did not include some sort of clasp/closure.

Also, the plastic holder for the phone itself does not quite hold the phone in tight enough, and my phone did fall out once, so I'm not completely faithful it will be protected if I drop it.

I do like it though in many ways, especially aesthetic, as most holders on the market are either very ugly, or provide almost no protection. I'm not sure yet whether I would buy one again or not. If they add a closure/clasp, then, yes. Otherwise, not sure.

Falls apart in less than a year

I used it for less than a year. First the leather wears off the hard plastic, then the stitches come undone and now the everything is delaminating. The 4s version was ok with some faults and lasted 2 years ... this version for the 5s.. in one word.. BLOWS.

    Twelve South BookBook Case

I got this amazing case for Christmas 2013, it's now mid June 2014 and even though this is literally a great case (I haven't lost, broken, or cracked my phone since I got this case) ONE major issue is that where the actually phone sits is already coming apart. I mean $60 for a case should literally last a few years. Sad thing is I wish Apple could replace the item but they can't. Over all great case but cost to much if its already falling apart.

    Nobody can hear you

What most reviews say is true: the way this case is designed prevents for the iPhone microphone to work properly. You can't use the phone without headphones. I can't believe how such an expensive case could be so defective. I tried cutting the bottom part of the case to eliminate any potential blockages to the mic, but still it does not work properly. Do not buy this very expensive and low quality case, please... you'll regret it.

    Great idea!

This wallet/case is great! In addition to the comfort of not having a wallet in your back pocket it also allows a more comfortable ride on my motorcycle. After about 2 years it has finally started to dhow some wear & tear, but as much as I use my phone this is to be expected. I have had many complements on the case and a few people have bought it because they liked mine so much. I would recommend this wallet/case to everyone.

    Book Book iPhone 5s case

I had this case for a little over a year and the stitching is coming undone on the front of the case. On the inside where the phone attaches the leather is separating. I had one for the iphone 4 also with no problems. I wonder if they are not monitoring quality control. $60 dollars a year is a lot for a phone case. I'm going to look for something other than this product. I loved it when it worked, but it's just not well made.

    Loved previous version

Before I bought this for my I Phone 5, I read all the reviews. I should have headed the many, many people who said that this newer version messes, somehow, with the sound quality. But, I wanted this so badly that I ignored those reviewers. I now thoroughly regret it. People I am talking to on the phone say it sounds like I'm in a tunnel . When I take the case off, it's fine. An Apple Store I went to denied this to be true (since Apple sells this product) but all the employees had to agree with me, once they tried it. In order to talk on the phone I have to quickly pop the phone out of the case. This new, improved model holds the phone nice and securely, so this quick pop-out maneuver is not easy or quick. It requires a little force. This back-and-forth has caused the case to become unglued. I feel rather unglued myself, about the whole thing. Grrr. Don't bother.

Twelve South BoobBook Case for iphone 5s

I bought this case to protect my new Apple iphone5s from getting scratched or dropping it and having it crack. I will say it does do both (so far so good!) The iphone5s does fit perfectly in the case. The front cover doesn't want to stay down so at night I turn it upside down. I think it will become more flexible as I open and close it 20 times a day! It's a nice quality leather and has that 'vintage' matte finish. I wish it didn't have the title down the spine. I hope it wears off soon.
There is NO problem with the Ringtones sound not sounding like your volume settings. I have my Sound all the way UP in the setting and it sounds the same as not being in a case. Basically, I'm very happy with Twelve South BookBook Case for iphone 5/iphone5s. ~

    Had High Hopes

At first glance, the look, the feel, and functionality we're just what I had hoped for. But after a few months, I find myself searching for a replacement product. First problem was the mute issue when the case is folded back on itself. People cannot hear you. Second is the quality of the product. The addhesive used to laminate the book together degrades over time and the product just falls apart. To bad, because both of these problems could be resolved with a little thought and ingenuity.

    ALMOST Perfect....MAJOR Flaw

This "case" is awesome but with a MAJOR flaw. The look, feel, even smell is great. The classic leather book look comes with the classic leather book smell which is pretty cool. Phone fits firmly with no wiggle room so you can feel safe the phone won't pop out. The cards and ID slot hold firmly, almost too firmly but once they are broken in works great. No need to worry about the plastic ID spot scratching your screen but most people use a screen protector now a days anyway. The MAJOR flaw is no one can hear you when you talk on the phone! I read the reviews before purchasing and thought to myself "how can a case effect how people hear you?" but once I used it I knew exactly what they were talking about. I only used mine for a week and had to return it because no matter who I talked to, which phone or carrier, cell or land line was on the other end, they couldn't hear me. That is really disappointing because otherwise this would be the best "case" out there. I loved not carrying a wallet with me and only needed to bring this but back to the search I go. If 12 south can figure out this issue some how then I will be buying another one guaranteed! If you don't talk much or use a headset mostly then this will be just fine for you.
