I bought this case (in black) in store at Covent Garden when buying my Macbook after high recommendation from the salesman, who was, to his credit, very genuine and helpful. I've had the case on my Macbook from the moment I took it out of the box, in order to protect from scratches. My Macbook would actually look better if I had never put the case on to begin with. It has left highly prominent, permanent marks all over the top and bottom of the shell. It looks fine when the case in on however I now don't have the option to go without. When paying £60 for a case I expect it to protect my machine, not have an adverse affect. The case itself it fine, and looks smart on. I am just incredibly annoyed about the permanent damage it has done to my expensive Macbook. Waste of money.

    Love this case!

Love this case! Yes, it does leave outlined marks on the computer case but this is a MINOR problem! Use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get erase these marks! Not an issue at all!!!

So far I love it, but...

The bottom section of the case is bubbled quite a bit. So much so that the laptop does not sit flat, it rocks. I believe I will return to the store for some assistance/return. That being said, I love the overall fit and feel to the case. I love the matte/rubberized cover and the potential for some minor protection from dings and dents. I doubt this will prevent much if dropped as the insulation is very thin. For that I rely on a tight grip or a back pack rather than a slim case.

    Cas Damages your Macbook

It will leave and embedded marking on the top and bottom that even apple can't remove. This will happen with in one month of use.

    Long-lasting Durability Sounds Right

When I first saw the hefty $99 price tag, I admit, I hesitated. Having bad experiences in the past with other brands such as Speck and Incase, I was wary about purchasing another case that was made out of the same material but at a higher price. Eventually I gave in and bought it and honestly... my only disappoint for this item is that I wish I had purchased it sooner. The words used to describe this product ring true to their advertisements. Durable, tough, resistant---this case is incredibly sturdy. Being a natural clumsy awkward girl, I've dropped my laptop more times than I can remember. From hard tile floors to concrete roads, my case has been through a lot. I've dropped it off of high counters, tripped and watched it fall onto gravel, and even accidentally dropped it out of a moving car once. (Long story there) With each mini-heart attack that I get with each drop, my mind is put at ease when I see that my Tech21 case has protected it from damage. Of course there are little scrapes and marks here and there, but no major cosmetic damages to it. Appearance wise, it looks the same as if I had bought it yesterday. Whereas my old Speck/Incase cases were made out of a thin, flimsy plastic exterior shell (cheap!), Tech21 cases are made from materials that "absorbs, dissipates and repels impact"---and it really does just that if not more! Similar to what Robert F said, it has a matte rubber feel to it, but that's what I love about it since the rubbery texture makes it slip resistant. It's lightweight, smooth to the touch, and snaps on easily and has a firm grip on my laptop.

The ONLY issue I can think of with this product is that after a year of owning it, the bottom case has created some sort of greyish residue on my bottom panel. It outlines the FlexShock material on the case and it just. won't. go. away. Regardless of my persistent sanitizing and scrubbing efforts, it refuses to budge. You can't see it from afar, but you can definitely see the outline of it if you were up-close or if any light shines on it. It's not much of an issue with me since my case is on 24/7 but it might be for some. Granted, it is a little pricey, but when you have a $1k laptop, you'd want the best of the best equipment to guarantee its safety, right? Overall, I definitely recommend this product. 10/10

    definitely for road warriors

this is a great case. very light, slim, and minimalist in design. i also like the way it feels compared to the feel of the aluminium of the computer; makes for better grip. not sure why people are griping about the finger print thing as it's not an issue for me; just don't carry it while eating a gyro with your other hand ? to each their own i guess. i highly recommend this case.

    fingerprint magnet

When its clean, it looks and feel great.

But the black case is a real fingerprint magnet and that look really awful and ugly.

Great Case but buckles in MBP heat

So far I love the case but one issue, maybe rework the material and composition.
I was immediately worried when I heard weird sounds from picking up my MBP from the bottom took me a while but realized
that the case under was warm and it makes a pop sound because the rubber/plastic buckles whenever the bottom heats up.
Maybe this was intended, maybe not but you need to be aware of this when you use the product as to not freak out the way I did.

Otherwise pretty great case so far.

    Modern Case with Retro Feel

I finally upgraded my 2006 black macbook to a macbook pro but couldn't ever get used to going from the old black plastic case to the new cold metal case. So I tried this Tech21 case and it fit well and has a great non-metallic feel. The apple logo shows thru the case which is really cool. As to fingerprints, it is oil transferred from your hands to the case. So if you are eating pizza wash your hands before you pick up the laptop. Cleans easily with a moist towel. Not heavy and not so large that it interferes with sliding the laptop in the incase Tensarlite Brief Bag.

This overall is a good case but i would probably opt for the clear option. The matte black gets covered in fingerprints.

The case damaged my Mac book pro

I bought this shell to protect my Mac book from any accidental damage while I was in school. The semester is over and I took off the shell. To my horror I see the shell left marks all around the top lid of my mac book. i know it's the shell's fault, because the scratches and scuffs are in the shape of and design of the shell.

This product did the opposite of protecting my MacBook.

    Nice case

This is a very nice case. It fit perfect for my 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display purchased early 3/15. I do not know how well it will hold up to a small drop. It does looks like it has some shock proof to it. I do like the color a lot. It is not to slippery but not how do i say it, doesn't slide around easy from being like rubber. One CON would be that it does show finger prints and smudges and not the easiest to clean. But atleast it is not on the laptop. I have not tried to take the case off to see if it causes any damages when removing. It does fit on there snug so it might be a little hard to get off. I could be wrong. All in all i would recommend this case to anyone who wants to protect there $1300+ computer. $100 is nothing to keep this piece of art in good shape.

    Wise Investment

At $100, I thought twice; but my OLD 17-inch MBP shows wear and tear. As an investment to protect my NEW computer, I ordered the Tech21 Snap Case. When it arrived, the box quietly said "Quality" – similar to Apple's packaging. It weighs next to nothing. Easy to install. Fits well. Easy to clean – handprints, fingerprints, dog nose marks, dust, and marks of unknown origin – with a Mr Clean Eraser. Nice protection from scratches and marring. These features alone make it a wise investment. Protection against impact – its main purpose – is something I don't want to test, but it's reassuring to know it's there.

    Phenomenal Case for your Macbook

I am quite pleased with this case for my 13 inch macbook pro, and my first thought when I was looking at the case was the fairly big price tag. To me it seemed to be very steep for a case but I will a sure it is worth every dollar. Its easy to get on and off, the case is low profile yet stills has a lot of protection and has a great high end feel. I previously had the Spec hard shell case and after reading reviews of people saying it scratched their macbook I said good bye to that one real quick! The only criticism I have with Impact Snap is the massive amount of fingerprints the outside of the case holds. Overall, yes a 100 dollars is expensive for a case but you are paying for one of, if not the best cases you can buy for your Macbook. Highly Recommend

    Great case.

I wasn’t sure what case to buy after searching many different brands such as: Kuzy, speck, incipio, etc..I read mixed reviews of cases cracking within a few weeks, dust building up, and cases scratching and chipping the MBPr body. I then found the tech21 case through Apple.

I purchased the black case and it fits perfectly for my MBPr 13. It has a nice rubberized texture; you have a grip on this case when you carry it around. If you do purchase the black case be aware that it picks up fingerprints if your hands are oily. Personally it doesn’t bother me but a simple damp towel will wipe them off. The clips are very strong and will hold. The inner lining is made up of a padded rubber material to add cushioning. The case is secure and has a very nice flush finish. When typing you don’t feel the clips near your wrist. The vents on the bottom of the case are perfectly aligned and cut well. The padded legs are cushioned and will protect the macs foot pegs. A big plus for me are the padded legs aren’t some cheap glued on pieces like most cases are; you’ll never have to worry about them melting or loosing their adhesive. They’re actually circular clip on’s. It is hard to describe until you try to push one out but they are very secure. The apple logo does shine through the shell cover in a hazy effect. Overall I love the case and I highly recommend it.

The case is $100, which is very expensive, but I feel you really get your money’s worth. In the month I’ve been using this case I am very please.

    Too heavy!

I read all the positive reviews on this case and then decided to buy although it's quite expensive compares to the other brands. While it is true that the fitting is great, and it looks great and all, but I did't expect it to add so much weight to my macbook which is already heavier than the other laptops I used to have. So, all in all, it was a mistake for me as I can't use it since it's too heavy for me to carry with my bad back :( waste money.
