    Bad Quality Product

I just bought the Hue Tap and and it wont even pair with my system. By doing some research I found out there are several cases where this happens. Also one of its buttons was tilted slightly and it makes the Tap look weird.

    Better than expected

I vacillated over getting the Tap switch due to the less than glowing reviews I'd read. However, I finally bit the bullet as I was starting to find the duct tape we'd placed over the regular light switch ridiculous.

Happy to report that it works perfectly. I'm not (currently) having any problems with it. Fingers crossed that continues.

Set up of the device up in the Hue app is straightforward and it is quick and easy to make changes.

You do have to press the buttons on the device firmly and dead centre for them to work every time, but once you get used to the feel of it, it works really well. Reason for only giving four stars is the price. A $60 light switch is pretty crazy.

Ah well, I think I'm going to buy a couple more...

Works great but tricky to set up

Indeed before I got this part I realized that the manual isn't clear enough how to use and configure Hue Tap. Naming problem. Because you actually need not to tap but press each button until the device clicks. They're four pins behind it you can see them. And depending of the button you press each has to click. Don't fear to activate only button one! But actually you have to press the other buttons or zones individually as deep as button one until they click! Not just press them.

    I Love Hue Tap

Worked exactly as the maker intended.

    A great concept but...

I LOVE the hue system. I have 3 white bulbs, 9 color bulbs, 3 blooms, the light strip and two taps. The concept is phenomenal and the execution is good. However, the tap does have issues specifically:

    1) The design of the buttons is such that occasionally you will engage the large button (number one) inadvertently by pressing one of the smaller buttons. Pressing the buttons correctly will solve this problem, but who has time to teach everyone that wants to turn on a light to press the button correctly?

    2) The tap will occasionally not sync, or worse, loose sync with the system and as a result you see people with difficulty pairing the product right out of the box. In my case, it paired easily out of the box then suddenly stopped working. The first time I took the product back and got another. The second time I just ended up with a bricked tap. I see that others have said taping the buttons to build up a charge may reactive the device and I haven't tried that yet, but the problem does exist.

I'D DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THE HUE LIGHTING SYSTEM!!! The tap not so much.
