    Surprised by poor quality

I've been a fan of Tech21 cases and let me tell you, this one is disappointing. The bottom of the case doesn't wrap correctly, obstructing the speakers and the Lightning port. It doesn't look like it's a good fit by looking it bottom-up (not a straight line, rather a curved one. Feels like the case if forcing itself in or could end up damaging the phone. Also, have to force Lightning connector in and pry the case (which seems damaged now) to plug in properly. Also, it seems to limit the enhanced stereo speakers from playing correctly. Also, the mute switch is hardly accessible. another surprise was that the Apple specialist did propose to test with the same case in case it was a one off and the issue was there as well, suggesting that it's by design. Reached out to Tech21 support and hopefully the experience will be better with an alternate solution. If not, returning this case and looking for a new favorite case manufacturer.

    Muffled

Callers can’t here you with this case, you either need earphones on or loudspeaker for them their clearly. The silent switch is difficult to access, if you don’t have nails then a pencil will be required. The clasp gives up after 4 months and falls off. Not worth the money

    Callers can't hear me

First and last time I buy a Tech21 case (recommended to me at the Apple Store when I purchased my iphone 8).

    My two main issues:

    1) Callers can barely hear me when I have the case on my phone - I sound muffled - like I'm in a tunnel. When I take the case off, callers can hear me perfectly.

    2) It's hard to get the power button to work when the case is on.

These are two basic functions that I'm surprised made it past any company's QA department.

I have a message into Tech21 to see if they can either replace it with a different case that doesn't interfere with my iPhone's microphone, or if not, if I can return the case for a refund. Awaiting an answer.

Tech21 Evo Mesh Case for iPhone 7

I’m sorry to say that the iPhone 7 case is also flawed. You can not press the power button. Who checks these?

No incoming call sound when using this wallet

Just received my first Tech 21 Evo Wallet/active in pink for my iPhone 7 plus. It looks really smart and feminine. Unfortunately, every incoming caller cannot hear my voice. This is every time. Took it to the apple shop where they tried it without the wallet and the sound was normal. They then tried my wallet in a brand new phone with my case on and once again the sound quality was zero. Clearly the design at the bottom of the casing, where it goes across the row of microphone speaker dots is stopping the sound from being picked up. I'm so disappointed in this design fault and I surely can't be the only one who has experienced this problem.

    Will have to return it.

Tech 21's Design and Quality Control on the Decline

I just received my IPhone 7 Plus and felt confident that the Tech21 product would do as good a job as my previous three Tech21 cases. Man, was I wrong. Visually, it is very close to other such cases I have purchased for my Apple phones, but the functionality of this case is severely lacking. Obviously, the design team did not do much product testing before releasing it to sell.

I don't have nubs for fingers -- and my fingernails are on the short side -- but there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that I can access the mute switch without using a pencil or -- saints preserve us -- a stylus. If I had any idea that the switch would be so recessed in the case, I would have purchased a different case.

If you are considering a Tech21 case for your IPhone (whether or not you have ever used one), please take my suggestion and be VERY skeptical of the design. Do not rely on past experiences, or you will end up being as sorry as I am. Now, I have to go hunting for a useful and well-designed case that meets my needs the way that the previous Tech21 cases did.

    Could be great, but...

Although this case looks good and feels good in the hand, it has a few serious problems:

    - Poor fit around the bottom of the phone. It's so loose that the bottom of the case can start coming off when you pull the phone out of your pocket.

    - Stiff, non-responsive buttons. The plastic buttons on the case are stiff and hard to press.

    - Poor design for the mute switch opening. The opening is too small, at least for my hands, which makes the mute switch hard to reach.

I'm sorry I wasted my money on this case.

Bottom of case does not wrap around iPhone 7 Plus correctly.

Purchased this case with my iPhone 7 Plus and the design at the bottom is either flawed or I received a defective product. The rubber does not wrap completely around the speaker area to the top of the phone and "snap" into place over the glass. It instead is lax and you can push it out of the way easily with your finger, exposing the glass edge to damage. This also prevents the charging cable from being plugged in without some wiggling. For $40 this is unacceptable, returning item.

Impressed with my Tech21 Evo Mesh case for my new iPhone 7 Plus!

I'm really impressed with my Tech21 Evo Mesh case for my new iPhone 7 Plus! I have the white case on my rose gold and it looks really nice and feels even better. I've always used a tuff case like the Otterbox Defender or the LifeProof Nuud for protection (so glad I don't have to worry about a waterproof case anymore). This is my first bumper style case. It's very "grippy", I haven't dropped my phone once yet. I'm so glad the cameras and speakers aren't covered with glass or film. It really makes hearing and pictures much clearer. I also like that the charging/earphone port is wide open and will fit third party chargers/earphones. I bought 3 for me and my 2 kids and we're all satisfied.

I don't have any trouble with the power/volume buttons or the mute switch and i keep my nails pretty short. The bottom of the case does feel a little loose, hopefully that won't be an issue in the future, but my husband has the same case on his 6S plus, and it has lived through drops without issue and it hasn't become looser. So far, so good!

Hard to reach the mute button

I've used Tech21 cases for years and have always been a fan. They are no longer using D3O as a shock absorption material, which is a disappointment, but I'll give their new material a chance. This case makes it tough to reach the mute switch above the volume buttons. I struggle every time to reach it with the end of my fingernail. Keep a pencil handy to get in there to flip it. Seriously.

Awesome case for iPhone 7 Plus

I just love Tech21 cases and must have over 5-6 of them on different iPhones. With the new iPhone 7 Plus, to me there's only one choice Tech21. With the black iPhone 7 Plus I wanted a case that would enhance the classic black look while complimenting it. This black case has the perfect look with that classic Mac Pro look on the back. As always the car is solid, makes the phone easy to hold and doesn't add much bulk. All while keeping my phone safe from drops! What more can I say? Just Awesome!

    Protective Case, Recommended

Ever since my iPhone 5, I have been using Tech 21 cases. The Evo Mesh is great for the iPhone 7 - it feels as good and "grippy" as it has in past generations. I've already dropped my phone many times, and I am confident of the protection this case offers. I have purchased both the white and black cases, (one for me, one for my wife.) I've also installed the Tech 21 screen protector - that's recommended too.

This is my first Plus phone, and I've noticed that the bottom is a more lose than I would like it. I think it's because of the width of the phone.

I also am curious to see if the clear part of the case will yellow over time.

Great value, great protection without sacrificing thinness. Well done Tech 21!

Love Tech21, but this case is flawed

I'm a big fan of Tech21 cases. My family and I have used several of their cases over the years and been happy with the protection they provide. So why 1 star? I bought this case when purchasing my iPhone 7 Plus. Much to my surprise, the case doesn't allow me to access the silent switch on the left side of the phone. They didn't engineer the opening properly so the switch cannot be reached.

I'll be returning the case with the hope that other Tech21 cases for the 7 Plus don't have the same issue.

    Great case!

If you're a fan of Tech21 cases and just bought an iPhone 7, then this is your case. It has a good lip to protect the screen, but allows for a screen protector to be installed with ease. The back mesh part isn't as pronounced as it is in this picture, so check it out for yourself. I think it's more transparent. It's easy to get on and off and should offer some great protection without the bulk like only Tech21 can offer.

    Thanks!
