The best multi room wireless speaker at $199/-.

    • Written by Fredrick M from Hong Kong

The Sonos Play 1 is a tiny speaker only in size. The sound that comes from these are huge. Don't let that size or price fool you. I have a 15'x15' living room and these can fill the room with sound that is acoustically amazing. Using Trueplay the sound gets enhanced to a level that left me spell bound. They sound so much better than speakers costing much more.
One caveat: they are only for those who prefer streaming services and like uninterrupted music.
    No Bluetooth.
    No Appleplay.
    No external connectors.
But Apple music and online radio services sound amazing. Pair them for true stereo or use one as you like. You can even place it in the bathroom. Not under the shower though.
Pipe music all over the house with multi room.
They are a closed system like iOS. But if you can live with that you will enjoy amazing music. I even use a pair as surrounds.

    Fantastic product

I decided to purchase a sonos play 1 wireless speaker from the Apple Store after trying out a speaker that we currently own. And my overall impression of the wonderful product.that I will rate would be at an all time perfect 10 points. And most people don't even realize that the good thing about purchasing the speaker is that you don't have to get the system package that costs more. But peace by peace

Only plays music from specific, limited sources

    • Written by Sarah P from Lexington Park

This will only play music from a select list of applications. It will not work as a generic cord-free speaker and will not "play anything" as stated in the description. For example, you can't use it for Overdrive (audiobooks), Netflix, or other content from a laptop besides its limited list of music sources like pandora, Spotify, Apple Music, and whatever you have in iTunes music. The sound is great, once you force the auto-compression to none, so it gets an extra star. But it's going back to the store. I need a speaker that truly plays anything that my device can play. This speaker can only play some things. And it cut out a lot and had a big delay before playing, too, despite my high-end router. The setup was at least very easy.

    Great sound and quality product

    • Written by Melissa A from Mars

I bought these on a recommendation of a friend and have put them in my businesses and now at home. I highly recommend them for the ease of a 5 minute connection and you are listening to music. Quality sound thru out the room, Would recommend if your are looking for a wireless speaker.

Really simple set up, takes one or two minutes. The sound quality is unbelievably fantastic! The Sonos app works incredibly well, and integrates with all online music services as well as your music resident on your phone. We have a number of these in our home and I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

    Fantastic ❤️

    • Written by Alexander H from Elk Grove

I was skeptical about the sound quality after reading other reviews.
However after testing it out for a few days, I absolutely love this speaker.
The sound is pretty impressive for a small speaker and the sound quality is nice over all.
Sometimes it does seem like the speaker is "thinking" about how high/low to set the treble and bass, but it still sounds great.

The only downside is that the Songs app needs to be used with this speaker. The app is very easy to use, but a little different than the Music app in iOS 10 and there isn't a newly added song section. Nonetheless, the app has some pretty cool features and doesn't deter use of the speaker.

Really loving this speaker and I plan to purchase a few more of these to take advantage of the multi-room features.

Sound is fine, connecting is disappointing

    • Written by Sarah E from Los Angeles

The speaker itself sounds about as good as many other on the market in it's price range. My problem with this speaker is that it connects via wifi so it's only as good as your wifi in the moment. Also this eliminates using it with devices that do not have a Sonos app available (like the AppleTv, which is what I got this speaker for) unless you purchase more equipment... mine is going back to the store after only using it for the 30 minutes it took to set it up.
