    great product, but some flaws

really cool product, received it as a christmas present from my dad. i love that you can print videos and normal photos. however, i've printed about 13 pictures and all have come out the same; very low quality resolution, very dull colouring. i've tried editing them to make them brighter but they still came out the same, it is as though they are fuzzy and blurred, it doesn't print distinct images

    Brilliant but disappointing

I really do love this. The concept is brilliant and playing the videos from the pic is unreal. However the printer itself Is
Very flimsy, I had to put an elastic band around it. Not the quality I'd expect for something being sold via Apple. The cover keeps falling off. No instructions. The cover card. I still don't know whether it has to be put through before each print. The print quality of the actual photos is shockingly poor. They are tiny aswell but I knew that before I purchased it. The app is a disaster. Only works half the time. After my initial purchase i just gave up using it because whenever I wanted to show off the magic of the videos it wouldnt work at all. I'm hoping that at least the app has a major update so that at least the printer would be more reliabe! I'd still recommend it just don't expect to use it to print decent photos!

Great concept but needs some polish

This printer is great at what is sets out to do: allow you to wirelessly print photos from your iPhone to any LifePrint printer anywhere in the world. You can print instant photos to Zink peel-able film using other printers - such as a newer Polaroid camera - but this printer stands out for its ability print directly from your iPhone.

That said, there are some caveats: 1. There are no instructions for set up or use in the box. Nada. You have to load the app and then find user guide video to understand how to set the printer up. This was a bit frustrating and an odd assumption on the part of LifePrint Products. Can't they include a small helpful tri-fold (not the useless one in the box) with setup instructions? 2. Although the printer is beautifully designed - very "apple-ish" - the cover on the printer is a bit flimsy, and will pop off easily with almost any handling. There needs to be a better snap lock to hold it in place. 3. The "hyperprint" option is fun (think the moving newspaper pics in the Harry Potter films), but a bit gimmicky and now even a bit quaint in this age of live-view pics and cloud sharing of photos with everyone. However, this is fun to use and show at a party or get-together.

These points are minor negatives. The printer is still light, easy to carry, and works well. The picture quality is generally good - not great - but the film quality is more a limitation of the Zink film technology rather than the printer. The peel-able backs make sticking the pics in albums, books, the fridge or your lap top easy.

All in all, I recommend this printer as a convenient and fun way to (almost) instantly print pictures from your iPhone, either locally or to any LifePrint printer anywhere in the world.
