    Did Not Work Well

    • Written by GEORGE K from Culpeper

These did not work out well and required occasional resets to reconnect. It is also 2018, and people are not going to want to switch to their slower 2.4 GHz network just to be able to control a couple of light bulbs, And IMHO the mood lighting is the wrong side of tacky. I do not often send things back to Apple, but these are going back. :-(

    Great product

I live in an apartment with limited space. I always had a floor lamp connected to a generic smart plug with remote. After losing the second remote, I decided to invest in an isocket. No regrets. It's so convenient. Customer service was awesome with setup. It's compatible with Siri and my echo dot. I don't have to worry now about losing the remote or stumbling in the dark.

After looking at a number of different solutions for HomeKit compliant lighting solutions, I settled on the iDevices Socket. It allows me to use my existing light bulbs, and was quick and easy to install and use. I had 6 Sockets up and running within 20-30 minutes. The most difficult part was selecting the lamps I wanted to use. At first I didn't think the LED nightlight feature was going to be useful, but I love it! Bulb dimming works well; we get some noise when the bulbs are not 100% on, but I think that has more to do with the bulbs than the Socket. Only thing to keep in mind is the Socket+bulb is taller than just using a bulb - so make sure you measure the clearance in your lamp. It wasn't an issue for me, but you can get "lower profile" bulbs if you need them. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

    Great in the kids room

I love this light. The ability to have a low color light in addition to controlling the light bulb makes it perfect for the kids room. The color light is a great night light!

    The Future is now

Thankfully this product exists, the ability to control a single light bulb is exactly what I needed. I can not reach certain height and this made it possible to just use a siri command to turn on and off an out of the way device. Thanks idevice, really.

Great way to start a smart home setup with HomeKit!

I absolutely LOVE this product! If I could give it 10 stars I would!! I had tried the Philips Hue system and was disappointed with how hard the Hue system was to setup and the fact that I needed an additional "Bridge" to connect to HomeKit. The iDevices bulbs and switches were a snap to set up! I LOVE that the Bulb also has a nightlite built in, and keeps a wall socket freed up from having to buy & place an unsightly nightlite that has only one color/brightness. I have had a lot of fun playing around with different colors and white temperatures for both the bulb and the nightlight feature. Although I did download the iDevices App, I had no need to use it as all the bulbs and switches hooked right up to my HomeKit App on my iPhone! I was so pleased I purchased 5 sockets!!
